It's Cup Day Downunder!!!
« on: November 06, 2006, 06:04:55 pm »
It's the day the nation literally stops work to watch a horse race.

I don't normally back favourites, but I've been following Tawqeet recently and it paid me a handy 19-1 at its last start. An American bred horse who has been in fine form, but threw a shoe yesterday in training and 'may' have hurt his hoof. But, I think I'll stick with him.

My trifecta, Tawqeet, Pop Rock and Maybe Better.

I missed getting my bets on this year...keeping my fingers crossed for your Trifecta.

I'm thinking of starting a "Mataura cup day" only with Alpacas...care to place a bet... ;)

Good luck with the Gee Gee's.

Hugs

What a bloody disaster that was.

Tawqeet is still running - I guess that injury to his foot did affect him. what was i thinking? a two mile race, a sore foot, yeah, bet your house on him dopey.
The Japanese horses got it - 1st and 2nd by a short nose. great finish though. And, I did have 2 and 3 in the trifecta, but you don't get paid for 2nd, 3rd and 21st. damn, damn, damn, damn.
It's days like this, after losing big $'s and drinking far too much champagne that I wonder why I ever gamble. Stupid bloody horses, they should alll be shot and turned into cat food.
A win on Thursday, Oaks Day, and all will be good again.
Anyone wanna spot me $100 for the day  ;D

Poor steve...I told you should have placed a bet at the "Mataura Cup", all I had to do was whistle and they were off, five Alpacas came running up the hill...Carlos was the first one to the gate....he would have beaten Tawqueet any day..and apparently did, from what you have told us Tawqueet is still running.. :D :D

Better luck at the "Oaks"

Hey Steve. how's tricks?

It all happens at 1200 here,which is a bonus for us because it's lunchtime..... ;D ;D ;D
And the drug reps bring in lunch and champagne. The docs lock the surgery for an hour and we all toddle off back to work slightly the worse for wear.. 8)

I LOVE CUP DAY....... ;D ;D ;D

By the way , I didn't hear my sweep horse mentioned once during the race.........checked later........12th
Very ordinary

bye mate
love Jen

Matty the Damned was going to have 2/6 each way on Tawqueet but something distracted him on his way to the tote.

;)
