Hello, 24 days ago I had protected vaginal and oral sex with a sex worker. After 16 days, I had sore throat, fewer and fatigue that continued 3-4 days. Still, sometimes I feel fewer in daytime, especially today. (I took 500mg of parasetamol but it didn't have an effect). May those be the signs of ARS?

2 days before sex, I shaved my pubic area with a razor. May that cause a risk for me?

I'm so anxious. Any help is welcome.

At no time did you ever have a risk of contracting HIV in any of the situations you've brought to the forum.

I thought I had no risk. But those fewer and sore throat made me feel anxious. Do I need testing?

Since you didn't have a risk there is no need for testing.

If your symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

Condoms provide very effective protection against the sexual transmission of HIV. Use them everytime you have either vaginal or anal intercourse. No exceptions.

Hi again,

Today it's confirmed that I have Molluscum contagiosum. It's on my genital area (both penis and pubic area) and the doctor thinks that I got it via sexual contact.

I have not googled it yet. I believe there are so much information that will make me stressed.

Does this disease increase the possibility to get HIV? Should I need to get a test?

Molluscum Contagiosum is extremely contagious and no way HIV specific.

Chris,

As Jonathan says, Molluscum Contagiosum is extremely contagious and is easily transmitted through skin-to-skin contact. You should also be aware that shaving an area where you have MC can spread it to other parts of your body. You might want to refrain from shaving the area until you have successfully treated the MC.

You have not had a risk for hiv infection.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS SPECIFIC INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ann, as you told, after shaving, the number of MC nodes were extremely increased. I will be more careful about that.

Hi again,

As I posted before, I got Molluscum Contagiosum. I have been treated for about two months and I was fully recovered. After 1.5 month, since there were no new nodes, last week, I went to a German FKK club and I had protected vaginal sex with 2 girls.

However, yesterday, I realized a new MC node, which I haven't seen before. I have 3 questions to you. I will be glad if you would reply.

1. I wonder the MC transmission to the girls. Might them got infected? I feel so sorry. Since I haven't got any MC nodes for the 1.5 month, I thought I was recovered.

2. Do MC nodes increase HIV transmission risk? The new node that I see was so close to my penis and it's not possible to cover it with a condom.

3. On the top of my scrotum (possibly this area can contact with outside of vagina while intercourse), I saw a wound and some dry blood. I don't know why it was happened. Would that be dangerous for STD transmission?

I am so anxious. Now I started MC treatment again. I don't know what to do.

Chris,

1. Yes, you may have passed your MC on to the women you had sex with. MC is transmitted through simple skin to skin contact, unlike hiv. Most people have been exposed to MC at some point in their lives and it is common in children. Isn't only sexual contact that spreads it.

2. No.

3. What you describe is not a risk for hiv infection.

You did the right thing and used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv transmission, so you did not have a risk and do not need to worry about this situation any further.

Hi again,

Sorry for disturbing you but this situation made me really sick.

This is the 14th day of my intercourse. Today, I was checked by a doctor. I have swollen lymph nodes in my neck, very painful and big nodes. I have sore throat, not so much, but it disturbs me. And sometimes I feel fever.

6 days ago, I started using Cipralex for my anxiety. I have been feeling so exhausted, may be it is related to Cipralex, but I don't know.

Do those symptoms look like ARS? Especially swollen lymph nodes and fever are annoying me so much.
