Title: Confused between Symptoms & test...
Post by: mesh702 on March 08, 2011, 01:16:09 pm
Dear Andy/Ann,

I am male 29, I had 2 exposure one in 1st Aug, 09, it was condom broken with CSW in Thailand... And my 2nd exposure on 2nd Feb,10, that was protected but her period was going on so i notice some blood on condom.

Symptoms:-
2 month later (after 1st exposure) i got fever for 2 days and later I also got Many others symptoms like sore troth, dry cough, joint pain & masale pain, back pain, neck stiffness, headache, (All symptoms last about 3 months) & RASHES (On my face, chest, stomach, hands and upper leg),  white tough & diarrhoea for 4 days (Gone after taken Medicin).

Tests:- (All are Antibody Test)
1) Oct 09 - Hiv Antibody test result- Non Reactive (0.345) (Method Fully Atomised CLIA on cobas E411)
2) Jan 10 - Hiv - Negative.
3) April 10 - Hiv - Negative.
4) June 10 - Hiv - Negative.
5) July 10 - Hiv - Negative.
6) Sep 10 - Hiv - Negative.
7) Nov 10 - HIV Western Blot test result - All Negative.

My wife current symptoms:- Red Rashes on her face, shoulders, chest, and back look like HIV rashes pictures which i found on Internet.

I tested my wife with 4th generation CMIA HIV test recently on 4/02/2011 - Result 0.11 (Negative).

My current symptoms sometime rashes and little night sweat (Neck, Chest & Stomach)

1) What should I believe symptoms or test?

2) Should i consider my self 100% HIV free and also consider no chance of false negative in my and my wife case?

3) Cold I be one of those rare late serooconverters or unlucky enough to get infected with that rare strain and my test I have had could have missed infection?

4) Are there any other tests to do to rule out HIV (like PCR or Antigen) of ANY SORT?

5) Out of 7 - 3 test method are same and I found on net that test was 2nd Gen test so what is a window period for this test should I believe 100% on this Clia on cobas e411 HIV test?

6) It is possible same type of rash can get 2 different person in HIV?

I request to experts please clear my 6 point. Thanks

Mesh,

You do not have hiv and you cannot pass on to your wife something you do not have.

If you and/or your wife feel unwell, see a doctor. It's nothing to do with hiv. You are conclusively hiv negative, as you have been repeatedly told on MedHelp.

If you read the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

Whatever is going on with you and your wife's symptoms have nothing to do with HIV.  The incident during which you wore a condom and there was menstrual blood on the condom was not a risk. The head of your penis was convered which is what is essential. No risk on that one.

The one during which the condom broke was a low level risk. You were protected until it broke.

All your symptoms and those of your wife are totally irrelevant and in no way HIV-specific because the bottom line is that you have reliably tested negative. No matter what your fears are telling you to the contrary, you are HIV negative. Period.

If either your symptoms or those of your wife continue you should be discussing them with a doctor to find out what the real causes are for each of you. It's not HIV.

Sorry for break your rules... I ask here because I am worried about my symptoms like My rashes & Night Sweat, My wife rash on back, face & shoulder. I really don't understand what to do because now I don't have power to go for one more test. So I am asking on forms about this symptoms... Because you guys know all about HIV and there symptoms... Now it's already past 1 year after 2nd exposure so I want to know whether my symptoms are sound like 2nd stage of HIV and my test fail to detect. Thanks for your help

Mesh,

We've already told you to take your symptoms to a doctor. We don't discuss symptoms here because they are meaningless when it comes to diagnosing hiv infection. There is not one single person in the world who can diagnose your symptoms over the internet. You need to see a doctor face to face for that.

What does have meaning are the diagnostic tests. YOUR diagnostic tests have shown - conclusively - that you do NOT have hiv.

You do not need further testing. You do not have hiv.

Your warning still stands - we're not going to go round and round with your about your conclusive negative test results or your symptoms.

Go to your doctor. You could be missing something important by focusing on something you cannot possibly have. YOU DO NOT HAVE HIV!!!

Mesh,

Why are you concerning yourself with hiv-related rashes when YOU DO NOT HAVE HIV???

Post about this one more time and I'll give you that time out.

The rash which is associated with ARS, if it appears only appears for up to a couple of weeks or two and then disappears. It does not return.

But as Ann has told you repeatedly, nothing you have done put you at risk for HIV.

What it did do was put you at risk for guilt for straying which I suspect is the real problem here.
