Title: Performed Oral with 2 canker sores in my mouth
Post by: PeanutbutterGuy on September 15, 2012, 03:50:07 pm
Hi there

I really need your help.  I am worried, desperate, obsessed and depressed about something I impulsively did.

I met a guy off of the internet, and we had mutual oral sex.

I did ask about his status before hand, and he said was last tested 2 years ago and the test came back negative.

However, I got so wrapped up in the moment that I was not paying attention that I had 2 canker sores in my mouth.

He did not ejaculate in my mouth, but I think I did taste precum.

I didn’t taste any blood in my mouth, but I am aware the sores are present because they are irritating.

But after I left his house I totally regretted the experience fearing I made a big mistake.

Since then I just haven’t been myself.

Am I being paranoid or do I have something to be worried about?

How many weeks should I wait until I get tested?

I really don’t have anyone I can talk to about this.

Thank you for doing what you do.

You never had an exposure from oral sex. Saliva contains over a dozen different proteins and enzyemes that inhibits HIV transmission.

Thank you Rod for your rapid response :)  This whole experience is a learning lesson for me.  I called the CDC, and they told me I was at high risk with open sores.  OMG I was preparing to face the music on my status.  I feel you guys on this board really know what you are taking about, and the reality of the disease.  Has there been any documented studies where people have sero converted through bleeding gum, cuts, or sores (that you know of)?  I am planning to get tested after 4 weeks for a piece of mind.  Any input will be appreciated.  Thank you.

Your saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV. You are worrying needlessly. Really.

Cut out the drama and get on with your life. You can get tested if you want to but doing that is strictly for your peace of mind and getting a negative result is a slam dunk.
