Atripla and depression
« on: March 13, 2010, 09:58:56 am »
I have been on atripla since early november 2009 and apart from being a bit dizzy the first week , some good dreams and a slight rise in lipids ive been fine and have good numbers. But the last few days for no reason i have been feeling really down which is very unlike me. I know this can be a side effect from atripla but is this possible after 4 months with no real problems or is it not related to atripla ?
Any thoughts appreciated.

one of the side effects is depression, in some severe cases it can lead u to attempt suicide. It is common for patients who have history of mental illness to experience this side effect.

I think it's common to feel a little depressed... Keep in mind that it shouldn't last too long
If it bothers you too much, you should consult it with your doctor/pharmacist  ;)

Since i just posted i have been reading other threads on this subject. I have no history of depression i am quite a happy go lucky type of person . I went to a party wednesday night and drank more than i have i a while as i dont drink much since starting meds maybe its an effect from that. On other threads ive read that this sort of crept up on people after being fine initially so i will haveto watch things closely and if it continues i can go on to issentress i believe.
