Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Condom + Oral Sex = ?

Hello people

 I am new to the room and i just wanted to see if anyone could tell me if i have reason to worry. Just last night i went to a "massage parlor" and Yes, i was pretty dumb to those things because i had gone to a massage parlor before and all they did was massage me. Well, i get there and I have this cute chick give me a massage and being so stressed (and a little drunk), and being that she gave an AWESOME massage, not too long after that I fell asleep and when i woke up i felt something on my penis. Before i knew it i had her performing oral sex on me, at first i was a little worried and a little surprised that she moved so fast. When I looked at my penis as she was doing her thing i noticed that i had a condom on my penis when she was doing her thing. MY question is, how worried should i be given the scenario i just laid out. Should i keep letting that get me a little down and make me nervous while im at work and make me not want to eat because of what happened?

Condom + Oral sex == no HIV risk.

Latex condoms provide an effective barrier against HIV when used for anal and vaginal sex. In your case it wouldn't matter if she hadn't used a condom, since receiving an unprotected blow job is not a risk in terms of HIV transmission

The only real red flag in this situation is that you'd been drinking and essentially passed out. Excessive drinking and casual sex make for a dangerous combination and one to be avoided in the future.

Otherwise you weren't at risk in this situation since as Matty has indicated in the entire history of the epidemic there hasn't been a single documented case of a HIV transmission to a guy getting a blowjob. It's safe to say you aren't going to make history by becoming the first.

 You guys are awesome. Yes, i know it was kinda stupid for me to ask about my risk in getting a blow job with a condom on. But you know , it was one of those things that felt like a little elf kicking me in the back of my head. I know that from now on I will not do something that involves alcohol and mixing with massage parlors. Lastly, now that I know that this was a NO risk factor, then is it safe to assume that testing is not needed for that encounter?

Anon,

While you do NOT need to test over this blowjob incident, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Even if a condom was not used, you didn't have a risk for hiv when getting your dick sucked. NO RISK.
