whatever makes you happy, but i think gray is sexy.  i've developed more salt than pepper in my goatee if i grow it out. also starting to get a few sprinkled here and there on the head.  i admit that i do pluck out the random one ow two that crops up on the chest from time to time, but i think that has more to do with it sticking out as one that doesn't 'fit' witht he other ones & thus offends my OCD mentality!

good luck with it though!

I know just what you mean!  I was in the grocery store awhile back when I heard two kids (like teens) say, ''Let's ask that man over there..."  I looked over both my left and right shoulder before realizing they meant me.

phooey.

Hey, if it makes you happy and it makes you feel better I say do it.  My partner , when he started going REALLY grey, used that.  But.....he didnt tell me and made a bet with a friend of ours on how long it would take me to notice that he was using Just For Men.  Well, needless to say, yours truly flunked the test.  I think it took me a month or more to actually say to him " Are you coloring your beard?"
One comment: I personally like grey and feel that its not necessary to hide it ALL.  So why not start out with the beard and go from there.
PS....my partner no longer uses it because he has come to terms with the grey.

Besides really liking the name of the product, you can see from my avatar I don't have a big need for Just for Men (which could be my motto!).  Just give me a towel to polish the old billiard ball and I am all set...which gives me more quality time to spend here on aidsmeds!

But I agree that if you youngsters think you need it...then go for it....while you can!   ::)

I used to do it, but no more.   The only suggestion I'll make is to get a shade a tad lighter than what you may think...my hair/facial hair is dark brown, and if you actually BUY "dark brown", it ends up being WAITRESS BLACK.   I would get med. brown or light brown.....

also, get an old mascara wand or tiny brush, and just brush it on the gray parts...that way the whole goatee doesn't end up a "solid color" and looks more natural (to me).

good luck!

hugs,
Alan

My partner and I both use Just For Men. I don't mind salt and pepper but I'm not at the salt and pepper point. I just seem to have these little flecks of grey that come in on the right side of my chin and I don't like it much. I used Just For Men when I was in my 20s because I had red in my beard that I didn't like.

I've always been into messing around with facial hair. Usually have a full beard, sometimes trimmed beard, or goatee, or moustache, even did the horseshoe a while back. Don't go clean shaven for very long. Keep 'em guessing I say.

I grow facial hair VERY quick.  I can have a goatee that passes in thickness within 3 or 4 days.  I do goatees and those chin only dealies  about every 2 or 3 months.  Full beard maybe once a year for about a month.  Summertime is usually pretty smooth.  I shaved my head last year and grew a goatee at the same time.  However I do the facial hair DRASTICALLY changes my appearance instantly.  I go from more boyish to manstyle lickity split.  Keep 'em guessing is right.

I think that my avatar says that I no longer use Just for Men. Haven't seen myself without a full beard since 1971. I have accepted the grey.

My goatee is tri-color, like the flag of France.  It's basically brown but has some red in it too (comes from the hillbilly side of the family) and some specs of grey because as of last year I'm officially an Old Troll.

You know what makes me mad...

I hate HMO's.  For example.  I need to go to my general doc who knows nothing about anything to be referred to someone who knows something.

I have to make an appointment to see my regular doc (30.00 co-pay) to be referred to a chiropractor (30.00 co-pay).  I also need to be referred to a dermatologist for a plantar wart removal (30-co-pay).  BTW..the chiropractor isnt just one visit...its multiple visits (30.00 co-pay) (30.00 co-pay) (30.00 co-pay) (30.00 co-pay) (30.00 co-pay) (30.00 co-pay)
(30.00 co-pay) !!!   I need a 2nd job to pay all the co-pays!

I would ask to be referred to a psychologist because this is very depressing news, but that would be a (30.00 co-pay)!

Now...you wonder why my hair is turning gray??

hehehehehe

alas... just 14 years ago there were NO co-pays, at last not pre-HMO.  You know, back then the advent of HMO's were supposed to say us all money (lower premiums) but IT WAS ALL A LIE.  Back then on my Blue Cross fee-for-service it was just a once yearly $200 deductible for everything (can't recall how prescriptions were paid but I think it was just a $5 co-pay for everything, maybe $10 for non-generics.  Plus once HMO started around '95 my HIV doctor who refused to be in an HMO allowed me to see him for 8 years out-of-netword and, as I saw him once per month, took everything on assignment.  I didn't pay my first co-payment until 2001!

I'm on Medicare now and as far as my HIV specialist I don't pay a cent, though if I go for anything else I do, though rather minimum.  I don't see how you folks afford all of this.

LOL...@ Flag of France...  I myself have red, black, brown, and lighter shades of all three.  In the bottom right corner I have a big ole patch of grey.

You know, you can buy these little brushes with color in them to do minimum touch ups.  I used to use mine on the corner grown the of my upper lip because the goatee hair grew in lighter (blondish red) and I wanted it darker.

I now have too much grey (but not TOO much) on my cheeks but I just wear that mostly as a 10 o'clock shadow so it doesn't bother me so much.

There's only so much you can do when you grow older... as long as I looked like Brad Pitt when I was younger I'm OK!  (and yes, someone told me that one and I laughed at him... plus he was even a porn star... silly man!)
