hello, guys. i have problem. pleas have a look at here.
« on: March 27, 2007, 01:40:46 pm »
hello, guys.
i have a question. so here is the tihing.
i have been tested HIV+ in Jan. and since last Dec, i haven't had sex any more. but before a few days i have seen that there were quite many red little speckle on my skin. so i went to see my doctor today. and he said the symptome on my skin could be a symptom of syphilis. then he took my blood to test it. now i must wait for the results. but my last test in Jan showed that i didn't have syphilis.

so my question is: is it possible, that i really have syphilis?  4 months no sex, and no syphilis according to the result of last test. is it possible, that i have syphilis now?  i feel not so good now.  :( please help me!

Ivan-

Someone wiser in the ways of medicine will answer you question better, but my understanding is that Syphilis has an incubation period of up to six months.

I'm sorry to hear about your rash, and hope it can be treated quickly and easily.

Ivan, syphilis is passed along by contact with the syphilis germ in a small, sometimes not noticeable sore. Usually but not always it's through unprotected oral or vaginal or anal sex with an infected person.

As far as symptoms are concerned, the first stage shows up as a small, painless sore at the site of the infection within ten days. Usually it's on the penis, ass or mouth. within ten days to three months after transmission. About half of those who are infected don't develop a visible sore which may have been the case in your situation. After the sore(s) have healed, secondary flu-like symptoms appear after approximately 6-8 weeks.

These may include sore throat, headache, aching muscles and joints, swollen glands and loss of appetite. More importantly for you, a rash may appear anywhere or all over the body, including on the palms and soles of the feet.

Skin growths are also common. Highly contagious wart-like lessions can appear in moist body folds. Mucous areas of the mouth and genitals can develop a silvery-gray rash.

Your doctor can take a blood test which will identify the presence of antibodies against the syphiis germ. Proper treatment depends on accurately identifcation of the stage. Treatment usually involves penicillin OR tetracyline or erythromycin for those who are allergic to penicillin.

The good news is that it's definitely treatable and it sounds like your doctor is taking the necessary steps to identify what is going on and get it treated.

Good luck with getting this squared away. Keep us posted on how it's going.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Quite a few of us have had it.  It's a nasty little fucker.  I ended up in the hospital for 2 days because of a reaction to the penicillan, it was a fuckin bitch!

So, there's some good news for ya!  Guess I didnt help much there did I?  Good news is it's easily treatable.  But the spinal tap is a BITCH.  OOOO more good news.  Sorry, thats enough outta me.

Hi Ivan,

if this is stage 2 syphilis then you will get penicillin shots (usually in the butt), then get retested few months later to verify that you are ok. Usually those shots are good enough :)

Ivan,

As you've been told syphilis (in any of it's stages) is very effectively treated with penicillin injections. Note the word 'injections'. Tablets will not suffice.

It's my understanding that syphilis does organ damage years and years after the appearance of its secondary stage, of which rash is a sign.

The symptoms of tertiary syphilis normally appear 15 - 30 years following infection. Nevertheless, progression to the tertiary stage can be accelerated in immunocompromised individuals.

hello, guys. i have a small good news. i think i'm not allergic against penicillin.today my doctor had given me a packet of oral penicillin, in oder to test if i am allergic or not. and i had taken the first tablet in his clinic, and waited one hour. nothing was happened. so he thinks i am in principle not allergic. but i still have to take tho other tablets and wait for a pair of days, in oder to make sure i am really not allergic. when not , then inject. so now i feel a little bit better.  :)

Yeah the injections are basically a nuclear bomb up your ass to kill the virus. So that's why they verify that you're not going to turn red, green, blue and explode when they nuke you :)

Except, of course, to add that syphilis is caused by a bacteria called Treponema Pallidum not a virus.

hello,guys.
i hadn't posted for already a few days. are you guys fine?
so! i had taken the penicillin injection. and now i feel much better, just painful on my ass. ;D and i have to take the injections twice more. i think that maybe i would had no feeling any more on my ass, when i will have finished my injections.
it is really F**King painful. :) ;D

I didn't want to tell you about it before you "experience" that 10 inch needle up your ass.. Now interestingly enough the first injection was the worst, the two others were actually better, the kick in the ass didn't last as long.

Milker.
