Broken condom as top. So worried about anal fluids.
« on: July 20, 2018, 12:17:58 pm »
Hello! Thank you for all this help you do in this website. My concern is that I was having sexual intercourse with another guy in a sauna, I was the insertive (top) and I was inserting my dick into his anus, not fully deep but some, when I heard like a pop or break sound. I didn’t move and definitely no more than 10-15 seconds after being quite still I pulled out slowly and found that the condom was indeed ripped and there was some kind of anal fluid around and some around my dick, but I took the condom completely off and checked my Urethra: It was fully closed and dry, as well as most of my dick’s head. Then he sucked me a little bit and we have intercourse again with a new condom that didn’t break. Now I am very worried about this 15 seconds (This could be actually 5 seconds, just saying definitely no more than 15 secs)that I was inside of him with the broken condom, as the tip of my penis was clearly exposed (But the outside of the Urethra ended up dry and clean, or at least I perceived it that way). His status is unknown, but he said he ALWAYS have protected intercourse and that he had tested negative 8 months ago and have had protected sex always since then. Still, I think anything could be possible. I am writing to ask you how big do you think my risk was, regarding some anal fluids that were around the condom and my dick’s base and to know it you think I should do PEP. Thank you very much!!

The condom broke during intercourse, you therefor met all the biological conditions needed for acquiring HIV. Its that simple, no need to overthink this one as its irreverent.

Test post exposure for hiv at 6 weeks and 3 months for an conclusive result , also test for easier to transmit STIs

If you are considering starting PEP do so sooner rather than later no later than 72 hours post exposure.
