Good afternoon to all!

My name is Helena Hernansaiz and I am a psychology researcher at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid currently collaborating with National University of Ireland Galway. I am really sorry about intruding into the forum, but sometimes it is not easy to get in touch with people living with HIV.

I am conducting research with the aim of identifying ways to improve the psychological care that people living with HIV get after diagnosis, so that emotional recovery will happen as fast as possible. To that aim, I have developed a series of studies.

I would like to ask you for collaboration with an online study that only takes 6 minutes to complete. It is, of course, anonymous and confidential. The survey and more information about it can be accessed on this link:

I am at your disposal for any doubts you may have. Thank you for your valuable time and help,

Helena.

Dear Wade,

I have read the Welcome thread along with the posting guidelines and private message policy and I can't seem to find information regarding obtaining any permissions or how to do it. Could you point me in the right direction? I'd much appreciate it.

Helena.

Hi

So if you look at the top of this thread you will see "Welcome" text.
This includes:

Quote
Product advertisement—including links; banners; editorial content; and clinical trial, study or survey participation—is strictly prohibited by forums members unless permission has been secured from POZ.

When you click on the word "poz" in that section of test it is a ink with the email address.  However I can point out now that the survey in question will not gain permission for the forum.

However as you are working with the Galway university in Ireland instead you might want to try asking:  http://positivenow.ie or http://www.hivireland.ie if they would be willing to assist.

Best regards

Jim

Thank you Jim, what was very useful, I was actually looking at the Welcome thread post.

May I ask about the reasons why it would not gain permission? Thank you very much again.

Best,

Helena.

Hi

Its not suitable for the members here, some of them are very vulnerable.
Also this is a place they come to not to be studied, poked, prodded or reviewed, its a support forum for people living with HIV a safe place and I would like to keep it that way as much as possible.

Hi Jim

I understand what you are saying. It's very difficult to try and learn how to improve people's well-being without asking them, though. The intention of the study, of course, is not to poke members or upset them, and as any study this one is completely optional. Anyway, as I said I understand your viewpoint and appreciate the way you care about POZ members, just wanted to let you know. You can delete the thread when you read this :) And thank you for directing me to HIV Ireland, I know they are helping a colleague of mine but somehow didn't think of contacting them!

Best,

Helena
