Title: Different GENO Tests??

I have been on Complera and was doing very very well.  I went from having a CD4 of just under 250 and a viral load of 1,000,000  after 9 months was at a CD4 of 640 and a Viral Load of 50!!!   I thought all was well.   Apparently I was wrong.   
I recently had a seen my neurologist for some neuropathy follow up and he ordered a variation of blood test.   I worked with my regular doctor and had all of the tests completed.   Also at that same time,  my regular doctor was treating me for Prostitis as I was having difficulties.   He began antibiotics and did all the normal blood tests and the special ones requested by the neurologists.   Well my CD4 came back up to 684 but unfortunately my viral load had gone from 50 to 50,400!!!  Huge change.  Doctor explained that we needed to do a repeat GENO test and see if I had developed a resistance to one of the drugs.   I have waited over a week and got a message from the office that I need to come in for another blood draw.  The nurse indicated the results were inconclusive and they need to do a more specialized test.   Has anyone been in this situation before,  what is more specialized?   Makes me very very nervous!

I would suspect it's for a phenotype test (http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/Resistance_7510.shtml).

And yes, I've had several done. I don't think they do them routinely as first choice because they're more expensive, but it the genotype isn't telling them enough information then they'll also have a phenotype done.

Don't be nervous, this test -- assuming it's what will be done -- will give the most accurate information for them to recommend your next best HAART regimen.
