A thinking momment
« on: March 12, 2007, 10:37:33 am »
“A thinking moment (from unknown author)

We are all convinced that our life would be better when we finish our school , find someone to share our life with it , when we get kids , or when they grow up , when we move to a better job , flat , buy a better car………….
Alfred De Sousa says: “I have always a felling that my real life is about to begun soon. A real life! There were always a troubles which needed to be solved , jobs which needed more time , liabilities which needed to be paid ,…..After that a real life would began. At last I have realized that those manacles are the life itself! “
This way of perception helps us to understand that there is no instrument or medium to be happy – happiness is an instrument!
Time do not wait for anyone ………………….
So do not wait to finish school, to loose or get pounds, to start working, to get married,Friday , nice weather ………..
Do not wait to leave this life, to be born again, and we have to understand that there is no better moment in this life except this one.
Joy and happiness are not the purpose of life, they are just pieces of one journey……….
Now think well and answer these 5 questions:
1. Count first 5 people with most money in the world
2. Count 5 last Miss Universe
3. Count 10 last laureates of the Nobel’s prize
4. Count 5 last Oscar winners (male or female) for a main role
How is it going?
A little tough………….
And now answer this:
1. Count three teachers that had helped you in your life
2. Count three friends who had helped you in bad moments of your life
3. Count three persons that have made you feel special
4. Count three persons with you share your day
How is this going on…………….
A little better……………………..
On which list are you…we all know that.....especially US...
Because the most important thing in life is not to win. It is to help others to finish the race and cross the finish line…..
Bottom line:
Happiness is in making others happy
Divided sorrow breaks itself in two half’s, and divided happiness multiply itself twice……………..
And if you want to feel yourself happy count those things that you cannot buy with money (a cheerful sweeping of a dog’s tail –W. Disney)

Hey ÅI

I've seen this before and it is a great reminder about what is important in our lives.

Thanks for posting it and reminding me.

Thanks for posting. I think this is a very useful mindset. I am very much a person who says "if only...", "when...." as preconditions for being happy.

My friends have told me I should read "The Power Of Now" as being very similar to your post. Any opinions?
