Happy Thanksgiving to you too !  I was scheduled to have it off, but recent changes at work, created some staffing problems, so I volunteered to work Thanksgiving again.  When I come home Thursday morning from work, I will do some of the preparation, and Ed will cook the bird this year.  we will probably eat around 8:00, and then it's off to work.

By the way, you'll have some great weather.  A cold front is coming through today, but it looks good through the weekend:

Just had an enjoyable Thanksgiving lunch sponsored by the Campus President of the campus where my office is located - lunch was turkey, cranberries, mashed potatoes, salad, green beans, stuffing, and cupcakes - and held with a nice performing choir on the 5th floor patio of one of our college buildings overlooking Miami (temp. 81 degrees and mostly sunny)

Happy Thanksgiving.

Remember cranberry sauce is best served with cool whip, sweet potatoes with marshmallows and green bean casserole are part of the basic food groups.

Hope everyone eats a lot of good food.  I just finished making 2 Tres Leches cakes.  I love those, but have never made one for family before.  Oh, homemade whipped cream is soooo much better than store bought.  Now, it's time to light the Christmas lights.  I have been all over town this week looking for green LED lights and no store has them.  Very strange.  There is a shortage on green LED's this year, I guess.    They have multi, blue, red, and even purple---which makes me think of Halloween, but whatever.

After spending the last 10 hours cleaning my house getting ready for the fam I'm finally ready to relax.   Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.  I am thankful for all of you here and the advice and experiences that you share.   To the moderators who keep us in line and to the LTS's that have heard the same worry a hundred times over yet still are able to answer the same questions with grace.  Happy Holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving All-- May each of you have someone to share a meal with today. I'm going to try Klassy's suggestion of putting Cool Whip on cranberry sauce---of course it will taste fantastic! That will be my pumpkin pie chaser. I do not know what a Tres Leches cake is so off I go.

Oh my! Check this out...
"Pastel de Tres Leches" or "Tres Leches Cake" is named for the three milks in the soaking liquid (Leche means milk in Spanish.) The three milks in the soaking sauce for Tres Leches are sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and heavy cream. The heavy cream is also whipped up to use as the topping. Due to the rich ingredients and that it is soaked in a creamy syrup, Tres Leches Cake is extremely dense and moist, almost like a custard. Tres Leches is sweet and delicious, but it is nothing like a traditional dry cake that is light and fluffy.
