ORAL SEX AND HERPES?? CHANCES??
« on: January 13, 2007, 02:50:45 am »
First of all i want to thank all of the people on this site for helping so many people on your free time , i appreciate it  very much!  I am a 20 year old male i work in the gulf of mexico on oil production platforms and am out there months at a time. I came onshore and picked up a woman i didnt know was an escort(sounds funny but true) we end up having sex ina a hilton i wore protection even pulled my penis out the boxer hole to protect from other STI'S  the condom did not break . i wanted to know what is my risk?  Alot of people have been making claims they were protected and still tested pos>? And about the ora quick , oral swab , i always get tested every 6 months after an, exposure but the results will only take 20 min and its free.  Also i want to thank you guys for all the hellp you are truely nice and compassionate people! :)

You didn't have a risk and a test is not warranted. If you are sexually active then you should continue with your twice a year testing. You were never at risk in this situation. Protected sex is what it means you had protected sex.

Forget about that "a lot of people have been making claims" stuff.

This is the real deal. Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. Wear one everytime you have intercourse whether it's with a professional or a civilian and you'll be covered literally and figuratively as far as HIV is concerned.

Also, read the lesson on this site about Transmission. There's a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section. You get all the basics there about HIV transmission.

You weren't at risk during this incident you're concerned about and there's no need for HIV testing. Really.

Cheers,

Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission even if you have genital herpes.

And no, I don't see that you need to be concerned about passing anything along to your father by having used his razor, particularly since you washed it off afterwards.

I've merged your threads. As Matty mentioned, please keep all of your comments in this same thread. It helps readers to follow the conversation.

Thanks for your cooperation.

A hairy tongue is absolutely not in anyway an HIV-specific symptom.

As Rod has suggested this is something for you to discuss with your doctor. Which is what you should always do anytime you have troublesome symptoms.

Yes, that is an FDA-approved test. There's no reason to doubt that you will test negative because you didn't do anything which put you at risk for HIV transmission.

This is all about HIV jitters which is very different from a real risk.

I expect you to get a negative result. Then you can get on with your life.

Wart,

The Oraquick test is a reliable test, and you have taken it well outside the window period.

You are hiv negative, without doubt. Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse and you will remain hiv negative.

Second guessing?

You're HIV negative. Period. End of story.

Time to get on with your life. And if you find that worries about HIV are making your life unmanageable, then I suggest you see a therapist or other such professional to address the emotional aspects of this issue.

Because for sure you are negative.

Worry,

I deleted the new account you tried for as we do not allow multiple accounts here. You should know this by now - have you ever bothered to read the posting guidelines we've repeatedly asked you to read?

One more breach of our posting guidelines and you'll get a time out. Attempt to create another new account and you will be permanently banned, no questions asked.

And once again, you bring us a no-risk situation. Read the Transmission Lesson and get with the program already!

Wart,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page. You've been given this information before, but I'll give you a pass this time as it's been well over a year.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Please make sure you abide by ALL our posting guidelines this time around. Thank you for your cooperation.

Getting a blowjob is absolutely NOT a risk for hiv infection. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect. Herpes does not change this.

Not one person has ever been infected through getting a blowjob - with or without herpes - and you certainly will NOT be the first.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER A BLOWJOB, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!
