Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

test are conclusive?

I had a exposure about half an year ago and have gotten tested multiple times. there was a condom that broke with a csw. i have tested with the following:

1)alere determine antibody/antigen duo test@ 6 weeks negative
2)oraquick at home oral swab @ 3 months negative
3)alere determine antibody/antigen duo test @ 10 months
4)insti rapid test at 60 secs 4th gen @ 10 months
5)insti rapid test at 60 secs 4th gen @ 10 months
6)oraquick finger prick test @ 10months

are my tests conclusive? as i have tested a few times all at 10 months.

Generally, experts recommend testing for HIV antibodies six weeks after potential exposure then at 13 weeks past exposure for confirmation of the six weeks test.

So, yes, your tests are conclusive for the incident about which you are concerned.

Dear All,

i have a question. does vaginal fluid at the base of the penis and scrotum pose any risk for hiv. the sex was protected. please let me know.

No, vaginal fluid at the base of penis and scrotum during/after protected sex is not a risk for HIV infection, since there is no viable pathway for entrance of the HIV into the body and any HIV present in the fluid would not survive contact with oxygen.
