few questions
« on: April 10, 2012, 01:57:05 pm »
Hi guys,

first I would like to thank you for the great job what you are doing here. There are a lot of people which anxiety could be much worse than facing to the real disease and I'm sure I belong to the same anxiety group.
I had a few unprotected blowjobs and few condom protected intercourses with no developed symptoms in last months. There were no broken or slipped condoms at all, so I already know your answers. But I would like to ask you for some things from your personal professional point of view.

Here we go with the my questions.

1. Did you ever see someone who claimed that he got infected from condom protected sex? There are some theories about leaking of condoms and holes blah blah blah.. Personally I do not believe that is possible. Maybe it came from careless handling with condoms during or after the intercourse?

2. Same question is for unprotected blowjobs. I saw a few cases here who think they could be infected from fellatio. Could be it correct or that people potential missed something else? If scientists claims that HIV is not possible to got by kissing same odds could be for receptive oral sex.
I'm sure that you can be infected by shaking hands with someone if you and your business partner will have seriously bleeding wounds on your palms. But it's a "little" unrealistic.

3. Why someone has developed ARS and someone doesn't? Could be it connected with viral load or immunosuppressive reactions? I tried to find some medical articles but I was not successful.

Sorry for my poor english in combination with maybe useless questions but I'm just curious at your personal opinion.
By the way I'm living near by the scientist laboratory where the Viread medicament has been born.

All the best and take care.
M

Let's keep this simple. You want to get into rather abstract conversation.

The specifics of your experiences are that you have consistently used condoms for intercourse and you've had some unprotected blowjobs.

Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. So you have as far as I can see only practiced safer sex. As far as fellatio is concerned, you are not going to make history by becoming the first confirmed case of transmission to a guy through his having had a blowjob.

Keep using the condoms everytime and you will be well protected. We do advise anyone who is sexually active to regularly have a full STD panel done. That's because other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV.

I don't see any problem for you at this point with HIV.
