Teeth cleaning and HIV

hi, everyone, sorry for my bad English.

I am deeply worried about my last teeth cleaning about 3 weeks ago.

two days after the cleaning, my right side face gets swollen and the

swollen goes away by itself the same day. But I have some symptoms

such as nausea, low fever, tired, there are white coating stuff under

my tongue and mouth ulcer. These symptoms last for about 10 days

and goes better. But they appear again from the 3rd week. and also

my palm of two hands get very hot and looks in red.



"I am not a drug user, either I never have sex experience in my life(embarrassed)."

I did a Rapid Oral test on the 22nd day after teeth cleaning and result is negative.



The specialist who did my test told me my white tongue is not due

to HIV because this symptom cannot show up so quickly, he said

the white tongue or leukoplakia is a late stage symptom of HIV infection.

But I do feel very nausea and it seems the nausea is related to my oral problem.

my family doctor also suspects about the HIV possibility.


I did lots of search and find an article about the dental procedure

I know that all the dental tools must be sterilized before use

but I just worry about IF, JUST IF, they forget clean my tools

or

(after I read that article above) Is there any possibility that the hygienist intentionally spread HIV?(if the hygienist gets infected already)


sorry, my mind gets crazy for the above thoughts... help

Hiv cannot be transmitted from objects in the environment, and that includes dental tools.

Keep working with your doctor - and dentist - to find out what, if anything, is actually going on with you. Whatever that may be, it has NOTHING to do with a virus for which you have not been at risk.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU CERTAINLY DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER A DENTAL CLEANING, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Rather than being worried about an HIV infection, you maybe should talk to your dentist in order to discart a possible infection in the inner tissues of your gums as a consequence of the teeth cleaning procedure. It could happen sometimes.

thanks for your reply Ann & Alberche, I got the blood test result and everything is in the normal range, metabolic panel, liver panel , kidney panel, as well as the full blood count.

This "normal" result makes me more confused, I have thought I can find a reason for my symptom from blood test, but it is not.

since my symptom is still there, nausea, very tired and very painful in my mouth, the doctor says didn't find ulcer in my mouth.
