PET CT scan
« on: June 02, 2024, 05:53:19 pm »
Hey dear members of the forum
I have a question... I need to do PET CT scan but I read some papers stating that hiv positive people may have false positive results because of nodal hyperactivity because of hiv virus inside their lymph nodes
Anyone here did PET CT scan ?
I asked my dr and he said he didn't know

Looking for lymphoma? Anyhow, inflammation can happen particularly in unsupressed HIV but if it's the nodes then they would still biopsy to confirm.

I had an entire lymph node removed, it's not the end of the world. Anyhow, talk to your doctor again once the results are in.
