Does hiv without meds and decent numbers cause lipoathy face looking gaunt or is it only caused by meds. if it can happen without meds how long does it take to start after infection thanks.

maybe you want to check this one too. It says low numbers with high vl intially is somewhat correlated to this condition.

Many HIVmeds are toxic to adipocytes (fat cells).
But, some people have more adipocytes than other people, so they are less prone to lipoatrophy ...
