Fast food meltdown!
« on: December 03, 2010, 03:50:10 pm »
We've all seen the YouTube videos where crazed customers go batshit insane on service industry employees, right?  I just witnessed that happen in real life.  I work in one of Americas wealthier suburbs.  I went to subway during lunch.  While watching snow fall on the faux cobblestone streets which front  a chateau style surgeons office, I overheard an unfortunate customer having it out with the sandwich artist...

"no dammit I said mustard.  Muuuuusssssttaaaaard!!!!!  M-u-s-t-a-r-d!".

Custy proceeded to throw her sammich on the floor and began to scream into her cell phone...

"goddamn good for nothings!  Mustard!  I want mustard!!!"

she stormed out the door, shrieking on her phone and dragging her twin girls behind her.  It was all over before I was able to comprehend what was going on.  What a pity, I've always imagined myself telling those people off.  Instead, I just watched her peel out of the lot in her Audi, silently greatful she didn't back into anyone.

WOW - I wonder who got tarnish on her silver spoon this morning?  I hope the employee that this anger was aimed towards took it in stride.

If you ever witness such a situation be mindful of how you react. Chances are you are on camera and your behavior could land you in a courtroom, or worse YouTube, if things turn violent.

I don't understand...don't subway employees ask you what you want before they apply it?  So she watched them put no mustard on her sandwich, then paid for it, accepted it, checked it to see there was no mustard then threw it down and threw her tantrum?

No idea.  I'd presumed they put the wrong condiment in place of mustard, but I didn't inspect the mess.

Doubt it was really about the mustard and she probably regretted it later.

Doubt it was really about the mustard too, though after spending time working in the town, i doubt she regretted it.  Maybe she regretted not getting her sammich remade, but these aren't the types of people who feel like jackasses for throwing a public hissy fit or talking down to the sandwich shope employees.

I think this was evidence off yet another very rich person having for some reason to cut down on staff in the home and now having to show this behaviour in public

Or her dealer got arrested last night.

I would love to see someone try that in a Subway in London....... the staff would be  so understanding.......
