have you measured your thighs?
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:54:04 am »
Just curious about my thighs being so skimpy.

I decided to google what is the average circumference of a male.

The mean is 20.35"
The 95th percentile is 24.09"
The 5th percentile is 17.32"

Me: 16.5" (roughly the same as my husbands biceps)

I have complained about leg weakness for years to my ID doc.
Never once has he used the term "wasting".
He tends to fluff it off and suggest exercise.
Have tried to stay physically active as possible (still pretty limited), but the last 4-5 years have been a struggle for me to walk or stand for any length of time.
It just seems like my muscles have been damaged beyond repair.

I was on 40 mg of Lipitor for about 10 years.
(not sure if it was the culprit)
Also have been on Adrogel for about 1 1/2 years.

Not really sure what to even ask here.
How do your thighs measure up?
 ???

    Ok  Mitch 777

I have been watching this thread  ???

I am sure most of us would agree , and IF they don't then they LIE !

As for me :   My pants hang from my slender hips and there appears
to be no legs  per say  :-[
My shoulders  support a head , My shirt just dangles  :(

This is really what I see in most of my HIV friends .
It is what it is .  I would like to buy cloths that fit , but I am not a cloths hound and my husband sees no reason for me to worry .
My legs are not skinny but looking at old photos my thighs were rather big , never had a big ass  but my legs were very nice . Now they are not muscular .
My arms are do not make my shirts feel tight in the arms anymore  :-[
   You are not alone !
Not much i can say to make it sound good but I hope you are well !
I used to be very vain , it hurts to be loosing my looks and my body shape .

                                                  Be well ,
                                                                  Carl

I had never even thought of measuring my thighs but couldn't resist after see this post. ;D  I guess my 17 1/2" thighs aren't too bad.  Then I measured the leg that wasn't injured and it's 18 1/2".

Bicycling has been a blessing for me over the last couple of years.  When I took it back up, I couldn't make it a half mile.  I kept at it and now regularly ride 25 miles daily.

sometimes I think I'm too skinny, my hubby Bob  says I look fine

in older pics of me, I look a lot heaver, think i was 195lbs to 215lbs

but that was 15 to 20 yrs ago

sometimes my pants fall-off, and I have no ass.......lol

When I am standing totally erect, I can't see my thighs, when looking down.  :o   The gut is in the way.

But for curiosity I measured, and my thighs are 20-1/4. Chest is 42"

Waist is 36" pants length is 30"  @ 5' 7" ( I am shrinking at 61 years of age  :P  )   and my weight is 173 pounds.

Shoe size is 8 1/2 , but I buy a size 9 because of PN.
