Latests lab results and what a year so far!
« on: April 25, 2017, 07:38:31 pm »
Hey Kids,

What a year 2017 is turning out to be so far. First off in January I injured my foot while jogging, ( got stressed out) then I get the shingles ( more stress),  then my penis gets itchy and it burns a little when I pee oh great I am thinking an STD for 2017 that's  just wonderful... (even more stress) but there is no  discharge?? I think hmmm wait a minute I haven't had sex in a while ( my popularity seems to be waning...) so I get an appointment and the Doc runs the tests and this is what I get:
"I have received the urine probetec for gonorrhea and chlymadia results from the lab and they are both negative. Again, your symptoms were likely from "non-gonococcal urethritis", an inflammation of the urethra caused by some local normal flora atypical bacteria (Ureaplasma species and Mycoplasma species)."
Okay...
Then my FIT test comes back positive and Doc sends me in for a colonoscopy  yes, the fun never ends... They find a  small polyp and its removed and sent off to the lab to be checked out. (get stressed out waiting hoping the stress doesn't bring the shingles back...) Doc tells me today that the polyp is not precancerous and then I get my labs back and they are:

Undetectable
CD4: 635
CD4% 31

Everything else was in range except I am low in Vitamin  D. So I am going to go stand in the sun - I will be careful not to get hit crossing the street with my luck...

I hope you are all doing fine.

I'm glad to read that things are going very well with your control of HIV, and glad to read that your other troubles are relatively fine (though certainly annoying).

You may wish to look into a Vitamin D gel every other day (check with your doctor).

Kev,

Wonderful to read things are going well for you.

Also agree you should check with your Doctor to work on the Vitamin D deficiency.

Take care,

OT
