Another First for Me
« on: December 02, 2006, 09:56:58 pm »
In about 15 minutes, I'll take my first dose of meds.  It's not Atripla (not in stock at the hospital).  It's not Sustiva and Truvada (they're out of Truvada, too).  So, I'm doing it old-school with Sustiva, Viread, and Emtriva.  It's been a great 40 years without HAART, and here's to another great 40 with HAART (or sooner when 'The Cure' comes along!)  I just wanted you guys to know (Ernie / Razorbill) that your words haven't been falling on deaf ears!  So here's to vivid dreams with no headaches or squirts in the morning.  Take care.

Hi David

First of all I'm glad to see you back posting, I'm assuming that means you are feeling a lot better.

As for the combo they are starting you on..I have no words of wisdom for you, I have never taken any of those meds before, but as everyone keeps saying we all react differently to meds..I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all will be OK, but if you have any problems try not to stress to much, just be patient and give the meds time to settle down.

Thinking of you both and sending warm hugs from NZ.

Love
Jan :-*

Hey David,
EEP! I  really am out of the loop lately! I didn't know you were feeling poorly!

At any rate, I am glad you appear to be feeling better.

Let us know how you are doing with the meds - or should I say, Welcome to Club Meds?

Hang in there.

A BIG HUG to the both of you.

HUGS,

Mark

you and D and Iggy will be just fine.  Certainly better than where you just came from.  I guarantee you, that will NEVER happen again.  And I'm sure you'll see those panic attacks will become a thing of the past also.  I hadn't thought of it until just now but I too had those attacks just prior to my hospitalizaton due to PCP.  Of course that's what I think but what do I know?

Merry Christmas David and 'D.

Well, after day 3 of  meds, I have no side effects to speak of:  just a little heartburn after the evening dose and a few intense dreams that I can't remember.

I actually feel good, what with the 24-hour IV drips and O2.  The problem is that I'm 'borrowing' somebody's Wi-Fi connection.  It's really fast on all sites 'cept this one ... strange.

Anyway, thanks for the words ov encouragement; they mean a lot.  Take care.

Great to hear things are going well...

As someone who's dealt with panic (though depression was my toughest battle),just know that we all heal at different speeds and don't be too hard on yourself with the mental stuff. You're moving forward and just take it day by day.

Peace out,

Wishing you much success like so many of the lucky among us, David.  And keep in mind that I had to do it twice to sort out side effects we didn't like and I still ended up, to date at least, with the strangest combo. known but one which has worked for a long time.  Best, Win
