Thoughts on doing Atkin's diet , please discuss .
« on: April 20, 2015, 03:30:19 pm »

This past winter I gained many pounds , I feel like a slug  :(

I have used Atkin's in the past , like 12 years ago . I was working
so the pounds melted off .

Now I find a closet full of cloths I have no hope of fitting into .

My numbers are good .  All organs function well  :)

                                      Thanks , Carl

Hi Carl,
I'd stay away from that Atkins diet ,
You can eat all the fat you want, but no carbs
I don't think its a healthy thing to do .
How is your cholesterol and lipid panel ?

I have been struggling with my weight too,
especially with this winter we had.
I finally got rid of my Norvir for Tybost
Have noticed a difference in just a short time.
Will update that thread.
Be Well , Wade

   Hi Bubba53  ,
Are you saying norvir causes weight gain ?

I will discuss this with my ID doctor .

My  cholesterol  is around 100  and the  lipid panel is good .

Oddly my gaul bladder   has not hurt for a couple weeks ???

I'm thinking  it caused more by white foods and sugar .

Be well Wade , See you this Summer  :)

Hi Carl
Can't say for sure if Norvir is the culprit, but I'm going to give the switch a try.
I've been on it for years and have Lipo issues , and weight gain.
I don't think anyone has a cut and dry answer what causes lipo.

I have noticed my trunk and especially my stomach doesn't feel
as hard and bloated. My fatty areas also feel softer, just about two weeks in.
Bottom line , I can't say norvir causes weight gain. Might not be causing a
problem for you.

Dieting definitely does help, I've tried to watch what I eat, found what
works for me is moderation. I try to keep the starches and fats down,
helps with my weight ,but not my Lipo.
My cholesterol is 123, my triglycerides were only 93 my last labs
just about three weeks ago. We both have that in common.

You stay Well Too, look forward to seeing you , Wade

    I saw my I.D. doctor yesterday !

He was very pleased that I have lost weight , my labs were good .

Doctor said he had no issues with Atkin's .

I made the mistake of telling Bob that the doctor said I would look

    incredible if I lost 20 more pounds .......  :o

Anyway , I will continue with high protein no carbs for sometime to come .

I will have to pick a carb free drink for the upcoming POZ Gathering in memphis  :)

                                          Yual be well ,  Carl
