Such unhopeful encounters on the Poz Personals site.
« on: November 18, 2016, 02:25:57 am »
The pool of men has gotten so small and the ones I have talked to or met seem to have issues, ex addicts of some sort.  Some were highly promiscuous (ie. sex parties).   I was so conservative when I got this from my husband 17 years ago ( having had only one partner before him), and now he has passed away, and I have this depressingly limited pool of men to try and find a great match.   Yet the incidence of drug use is likely or recovery from it, or promiscuity, or deviant behavior.  Last one was a major covert narcissist.   If you laugh at this, or think it is cute, then you do not know what this personality disorder truly is or how emotionally abusive such a person can be.

Such a pathetic situation I have gotten into.

It's strictly off limits to men.

Thank you.

I've connected with several men on the poz website and I have to admit, the pool is really depressing. The last person I met on the site, turned out to be mentally and emotionally abusive among other things. I'm getting older and would like to meet someone special but as time goes on, I'm afraid the chances of that are decreasing everyday.

Girls why are you limiting yourselves to poz men!? There’s a whole world of men out there! I’ve told 4 men in my time about my status - granted I usually tell men I’m
Not particularly interested in, but they have not given a damn!
Date as any normal person would I say. We shouldn’t think of ourselves as being restricted - yeh, it brings up issues, but simpler ones than narcissists and drug addicts?!

Ladies, I totally understand. I find most "straight" men (my personal experience) are really bi and extremely promiscuous, a lot of drug users.. etc.. it is beyond depressing.

Have any of you tried other non hiv dating sites, any stories, suggestions..

I agree, and it sucks.  I finally met a man at work who is wonderful and turned out he is poz and didnt know it. We have a crazy story!  After a year of dating he has moved in and we are so very happy!!!   Keep hope, there is someone out there for you. I never thought it was possible either....you can tell that from my post 11/25/16 on this thread.
