Hello I'm new here
« on: August 10, 2007, 01:34:20 pm »
Hi! I just joined and was happy to find a place for women like me! My name is Nicki. I am 23 years old and have been poz for 4 years. I was infected when I was 19 by a boyfriend who was pure evil, lied to me, infected me, and did many horrible things to me until he ended up in jail. I read alot of info about this disease and it taught me that I didn't have to settle for anything less than I wanted in life, simply because I was poz. Finally I stepped out of the depression and started taking care of myself. I now live with my fiance and my 18 month old daughter, who are both negative. I am currently taking Reyetaz, Norvir, and Epzicom, and they are working wonderful! I hope to make some new friends here who can truley understand what I am going through.

Hi Nicki~

Nice to see you here!  These threads are contagious, lol, no pun intended, but it IS a lot of fun to share stories.  The best part is, we're not alone!  When you feel up to it, please post in the "By Way of Introduction" thread here in the Women's Forum!  You can read more about all of us GFs there as well!

http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=11765.0

I look forward to seeing you here in the threads!

Hey Lil Momma~~

I say that cause you are so young. I can relate to how you were infected, I was infected by an ex too. I saw your post in my In Pot We Trust thread. It's good to have another smoker in the house...Bong,Bowl, or Blunt? ;D...I hope to read more about you in the Intro thread. Welcome to the Forums.

Hello all,

I am new here also, just got diagnosed last week...and I couldnt believe it. I was worried and sad for a while and after i did some research on the web and read the messages people posted i feel a lot more positive. i am going to meet a counsellor today and a first clinic appointment next week. I am worried a bit about finding a support group here because i am in asia...

i have not had a complete test on CD4 count and VL....but i feel healthy right now and I am going to take care of my health....i hope you guys can share your experience with me, about health condition and relationship issue. i hope to hear from you all.

thank you Nicole. I really need the encouragement. I have not told anyone about this except the ex-boyfirend i really care about a lot...i told him to get a blood test and he found out he is -ve. i was relieved. I dated him a 1 year and then we broke up, then i dated another guy for 2 months and he got me infected. I broke up with him soon after without knowing i was infected. then I got back with the ex i really care about...that is why i felt really bad about this....now i need to focus on my own life and live healthy...i am in asia, and it is so hard to tell anyone as i feel that they dont understand the disease and wont understand me.   I was never a bad person and permiscuous....

Welcome Newbies,
I hope you will contribute more and become regulars.
Mesu,
I don't know much about Asian politics or how the epidimic is perceived, to really comment or advice you in finding people you can reach out to and connect with there at home. The only thing I can think of is, where you tested, they're might be people ( staff) that can  direct you to support groups, where you can meet others face to face, and grow more confident in disclosing your status (maybe to your family).....
I can sense you feel some embarressment about your diagnosis..
You have nothing to be ashamed of, or embarressed about...your just experiencing the stigma of HIV, since it's a sexually transmitted disease.
This disease does not discriminate, it can happen to anyone, as it did to us, you are just as beutiful now as you were before.....

best wishes and keep us posted,
Nicole

Nicole
