Title: Viral blip or reason to be concerned?
Post by: dallas nk on December 09, 2020, 01:32:29 pm
I just got my labs back for this quarter and am awaiting an appt with my ID. It shows that my viral load is 160! Iíve never had a blip of this magnitude. 3 months ago my VL was less than 40 I believe. Iíve been on Biktarvy for about 6 months. Switched from Triumeq. Should I be concerned that my load was not undetectable? To go from less than 40 to 160 is making me a tad worried...

Hiya.

It's a single snapshot moment and only a blip of 160.

If it had been my own results I would not be stressing about it. I might speak to the Doctor and see about redoing the VL in a few weeks to see if the blip was a once-off.

Best, Jim

Oh, BTW did the headaches subside?

Have you spoken to your doctor about this recent blip, if so what did they say?

Jim

Thanks Jim. No. Headaches still come and go. Confirmed itís not neurological or Opthamological though. Theyíre saying itís probably due to inflammation from the virus but i donít know. I havenít talked to my doctor yet. Went in only to do labs last week got results posted in online portal today. Iím scheduled to see her tomorrow via television. I know sheíll discuss with me then. Anxious to see what she says lol.

Hi, out of curiosity: why did you get so many VL checks within such short timeframe? Best Matt

Sorry to hear the headaches have continued. Any thoughts what is triggering them?

Did you manage to talk to the Doctor today?

No sure whatís triggering the headaches. Possibly sinuses and allergies? Yes spoke to doctor said sheís not concerned about the blip just yet. She said could be because I missed a few days taking med but highly unlikely because biktarvy is powerful and hard to become resistant. Wants me to come back in April for lab work

I support all of the above.
such outbreaks are frequent, you should not worry.
We hope the tests will be better next time.
