Meeting in Amsterdam last weekend of September
« on: June 05, 2006, 08:45:00 am »
First of all I like to tell you how wonderful it was to meet Coen, now I understand why you are all so excited when you talk about Toronto!
It was like meeting someone you know, but haven't seen for a long time. With one look at Coen I knew I had met someone with a real big heart, I wish you all get the pleasure of meeting him, sometime soon!
We had a great evening together, with two friends of mine from Oslo; Karin and Kim. Coen had reserved a table at La Strada for us, which was perfect for our little meeting; nice food and a good atmosphere. The only disappointment was that Cliff wasn't able to come, because he had to work late that night.

Now I am looking forward to meet more of our forum members, hopefully in Amsterdam in September!

Here are links to two nice guesthouses:

P.S. Kim if you read this, hope you will join us here on the forum soon!

Hi guys!

Sorry I couldn't meet up last time and unfortunately I won't be able to meet this time either.  Somehow I will have to juggle going to a friend's wedding the last weekend in Septmeber in Cabos (Mexico), help move Will from Houston to London that same weekend and then head straight to a meeting in Ireland on Monday, October 1.   ???

Coen,

I'm still considering coming.  I'm still having some issues with the meds and need to gain some confidence that I'm going to be in a position where the hurting from the meds it tolerable long enough to do the flight and enjoy my time there.

I know the dates were posted someplace, but I don't seem to be able to find them.  Can you remind me of the details?  Thanks!

So looking forward to see you all!

Would advice those of you who are planning to come, to book an hotel well in advance, because it is something going on that particular weekend, and the hotels will soon be full.

Yesterday I went to check out some hotels. This one, which is very close to the center, looks like a nice place: www.quentinhotels.com It is the Hotel Quentin England. If I am not misstaken this is also the hotel where Mark and Jean are going to stay. At this moment they still have rooms available.

Trish, sorry that you and John wont be able to come, but maybe next time!

I'm watching airline prices. Still just a bit pricey.  Any coordination in where folks are staying.  I'm a bit nervous about a new (unfamiliar) city and traveling alone overseas.  But still keeping my options open in terms of trying to come.  I know it would be a great time.  And I may need that massage if my legs/feet hurt.  I do okay early in the day but the longer I have shoes on the more aching there is.  Hopefully within a month all of that will be a past memory though.

Well, I'd like to go ahead and book my hotel room.  Anyone willing to share it with me?  Pre-requisite:
1-Gotta be a no-smoking, no-snoring type of gal/dude.
Of course, if you're as sexy as Mark, half as enticingly a voyou as Jean  and deliciously camp as Water Duck, well, that'd be a plus!

Guys,
Here I am trying (seriously) to book a hotel room and, at the same time, find a nice, gentle, sexy, caring, horny (why not?),  normal person to share my room, and all you have to say is that you're a ...""no 3 in 1 kind of shampoo produit (sic)""; and, that your pill box is some kind of rarety that may have belonged to Queen Victoria --- my guess --- and doesn't jar with your colours!  Get real.  I'm trying to do some business here, okay?

Val,

We are going to look at diffrent house boats when in Amsterdam.

Maybe that would be some fun......

Our own vessel to sail..

But who will do what on board???????

Suggestions?????

I will be the host and receptionist of course.
And no, no, no Siang.

Hi Everyone,

This houseboat is owned by friends of mine, a great place to stay!

Coen,

How many rooms are there?
It may be a wondefull idea to put us all up on that same boat...the love boat..

After meeting Joemutt, Herman, Eirin and Siang, more than ever inspired to organise this weekend. Is the list of people still the same? Any others who are planning to come?

Another question: There was an idea to hire a boat and have diner while going through the canals. If we want a private boat I might have to pay things in advance and then I really need to be sure that people are coming. Are the people who want to come willing to pay some things ahead, for example through paypal? This is just to figure out how well we can pre-arrange things.

Hello again,

for now forget my last question on money. It looks like the group is too small to make it happen, because there is a minimum of 20 participants to book something like that.

I'm going to look for alternatives.

Hi everyone,

I am a newbie (on this site - not with hiv...) and want to know if you need to have been a member for some time to be part of the 'dam weekend?

No Pat !!

Maybe you would like to introduce yourself first, so we could all roll out the red carpet to give you a warm welcome; after that you are home.

Je vous souhaite de bienvenu !!
