Am I at any risk?
« on: November 04, 2020, 02:05:45 am »
Hi all

Hook up with a guy from online.

He did oral on me and I did oral on him. Both deep throating and anal licking.

He cummed all over my face and I continued to do oral after he had ejeculatad.

From what I know this is a low risk, but is it a no risk or should I order a testing kit?

Never had anal sex or other sex without condom.

Take care

Hiya,

Anilingus and receiving a blowjob is no HIV risk to you.

As for giving a blowjob, the mouth generally lacks route for HIV to infect, saliva also acts to neutralize HIV by damaging the receptors needed to infect human cells. It's such a minute risk that we don't even recommend specifically testing over it.

Just get tested whenever you are next normally due for a routine STI & HIV check-up.

Here's what you need to know to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection going forward.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

Kind regards

Jim

Thank you

For me as a non english speaking. What does minute risk meen?

1 in a 1000, 1 in a 10 000?

Or like there is nothing we never heard of but medicly speaking there could be a risc?

I do not have routine check ups, would this meeting be something you suggest me to go look up?

Or is it so low risk so that this meeting alone do no call for a lookup?

All the best!

One more question please.

Should I avoid other sexual contacts before I get tested for HIV or is that overkill in this situation?

Thank you.

Minuet, as in theoretical risk, lower than low. Example, there is a theoretical risk of being hit by a meteorite crashing through the roof of the building whilst you sleep.

No additional testing is needed outside of routine HIV screening.

It's recommended to test for HIV and far easier to acquire STI's at least yearly. If you have not been doing this then now is a good time to start this routine to know your HIV and STI status.

Again the encounter posted here is not an HIV concern, but I have no idea what other sexual activities you have engaged in during the past and with lack of routine screening you can't know your current HIV & STI status.

No, I would recommend you keep practising safer sex to reduce your risks.
