could you please help me
« on: November 20, 2017, 06:10:31 pm »

Hope you ll understand me i m so scared i told a doctor online about my story he said that i m in danger too if my boyfriend have hiv. I ve been in a relationship for 2 years. We did unprotected oral sex and frottage. After some months maybe 7-8 i got genital warts, i read in the internet that if you have hpv you should check about other std. I did a hiv rapid test this month it came back negative, my boyfriend did a hiv test after 2-3 days it came back positive. I m so scared that he infected me too. Is there any chance that he could infect me from frottage and kissing if he recently took hiv(if he cheated or i dont know) while having HPV, or maybe i have other std but i didnt test. So am i at risk if i have other std and if he have other std, or any mouth infection or bacteria from contracting hiv from frottage and kissing ( i have a weak imuune system) and gum diseases, something white in tongue :( i m really scared, i didnt remember if there was blood when we kiss. I really need your
 help thank you

Glad you were able to login and use the forum. I see the instructions helped.

Frottage is not a HIV risk, also whilst on the topic HIV isn’t transmitted by hugging, shaking hands, sharing toilets, sharing dishes, kissing, through saliva, tears, or sweat.

HIV does not remain infectouise once exposed outside the human body, the receptors needed to infect you are damaged rendering it unable to infect you.

No makes not difference. The theory of STI "increasing" the odds of HIV transmission is if you have a preexisting STI causing lets say inflammation or open sores it might when you do take an already known risk, lets say unprotected intercourse increase the likelihood of HIV being transmitted to you.  However it does not create a HIV risk where non existed to begin with such as kissing and rubbing etc etc

Giving a BJ is a near negligible concern, the mouth lacks the cells to infect and is hostile towards HIV, so unless you had gaping open wounds no need to panic about that.

All in all If what you posted is all true than you have no real reason to panic, continue to use condoms and remember to test yearly at least out of routine for STI's and HIV. Consider PrEP as additional protection layer against HIV

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

If you have white bumps see a doctor so they can treat them whatever it is. It's not a HIV symptom, could simply be thrush but get a doctor to check.

Accident ?

Look if you had any unprotected intercourse at all it's a risk, testing is great as you than know and with treatment you can live a perfectly normal life.
.
If you are negative you need to consider condoms going forward and possibly PrEP if available where you are located.

Kissing is not a risk, no matter what you were doing.  Nothing you mentioned here was a risk for HIV transmission.

So relax, and look as a sexually active adult you should be testing going forward at least yearly for STI's and HIV as a routine and of course when you do start having intercourse use condoms and condom safe lube.

As your BF is HIV positive you should be reading the below to educate youself:

HIV Transmission and Risks
https://poz.com/basics/hiv-basics/hiv-transmission-risks

HIV PEP and PrEP
http://www.poz.com/basics/hiv-basics/pep-prep

Also once your BF starts treatment (TaSP - Treatment as prevention) and reached a stage called undetectable viral load (UD) for more than 6 months than it is pretty excellent at reducing HIV transmission risks to you, even if you than had as example unprotected intercourse. Ill always recommend condoms though as layer against pregnancy and STI's and as I can't guarantee someone will take his/her meds.

Treatment-as-prevention (TasP) in short is use of antiretroviral (ARV) medication to decrease the risk of HIV transmission. Treatment-as-Prevention (TasP)
HIV TasP

This has been studied at length and to mention 1 of the studies as an example the "Partner" study is a major study looking at the chances of transmitting HIV with an undetectable viral load, there have been no transmissions between either gay or heterosexual serodiscordant partners.

Partner study
transmission-zero

More recent: Zero, No Linked HIV Transmissions in PARTNER Study After Couples Had Sex 58,000 Times Without Condoms: Click here for more information

Finally the consensus statement http://www.preventionaccess.org/consensus

People living with HIV on ART with an undetectable viral load in their blood have a negligible risk of sexual transmission of HIV.  Depending on the drugs employed it may take as long as six months for the viral load to become undetectable. Continued and reliable HIV suppression requires selection of appropriate agents and excellent adherence to treatment. HIV viral suppression should be monitored to assure both personal health and public health benefits.

NOTE:   An undetectable HIV viral load only prevents HIV transmission to sexual partners. Condoms also help prevent HIV transmission as well as other STIs and pregnancy. The choice of HIV prevention method may be different depending upon a person’s sexual practices, circumstances and relationships. For instance, if someone is having sex with multiple partners or in a non-monogamous relationship, they might consider using condoms to prevent other STIs.
