Hello my story goes like this.
I am a married man and have been faithful up until this incident.
3 weeks ago I was at my local gym and the changing room was dead except one other guy who I have never seen before (or since which is not unusual it is a large city gym) he started coming onto me and after maybe 5 minutes I showed a return interest.
He came over and started blowing me (I know this is as safe as can be for me). He then put a condom (where he got it from I have no idea) and he turned around I tried to insert my penis but it would go. I think he then used saliva on his anus and pulled my penis into him. As I was going in I felt something strange which I now assume was the condom breaking/tearing I assume because he was not properly lubricated or it had been nicked whilst he put it on.
I probably gave 3 or 4 strokes before I realised how wrong this all was for me, and I immediately withdrew and noticed the broken condom. I think I went into an almost immediate panic attack because without saying a thing I got dressed in less than a minute and left the gym...
Stupidly I have been unable to establish who the man was, or his status and so my anxiety levels are making me feel unable to sleep proper or function.
I appreciate I have to get tested at 6 weeks and 12 weeks but just now I am hanging onto the fact that this was an isolated incident and it lasted for such a brief time that even if I assume that the other guy was positive my chances of acquiring the virus are still in my favour.
I wanted to just type this out to get it out of my system, obviously I cannot talk to anybody else about this incident until I know my own status.

You're correct in your thinking that you are highly unlikely to end up hiv positive over this brief incident, but yes, you are wise to test. You have the testing time-line correct.
You are also correct in thinking that you had NO risk when he blew you. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.
I've yet to see the insertive partner end up positive following a condom break and I do not expect you to be the first.
Good luck, and remember, next time you use a condom (which should be anytime you have sex outside your marriage), make sure you're using plenty of lube. Also, put it on yourself and make sure there's no air bubble in the tip.

Thank you for your kind words. They do help during the wait. How I chuckled at the 'next time' advice which is very good. However I can guarantee there will be no next time. Once in a lifetime for this guilt/anxiety and stress is way more than enough for me.
Good health to you and I will post my final status in a couple of months. I refuse to get into the hunt for symptoms. I tried that for a bit and soon realised the futility.

Um, yeah, that's why "abstinence only" education works so well.... NOT! If the guilt/anxiety you're going through right now had any real bearing on how you'll feel in the heat of the moment sometime in the future, women would never, ever have more than one baby. Trust me on that.
Don't beat yourself up over this - and acknowledge that as a flawed human being (like the rest of us), you never know what might happen down the road. Get yourself some condoms, even if you never end up using them. Be prepared.

Did an HIV Duo test privately this morning 28 days post exposure which the good do tor said was 99.9% accurate and would give me some confidence in testing out to the 3 month mark.
Thankfully it can back negative.
The doc thinks I'm more likely to get hit by a bus than test positive further down the line from this exposure.
Thank you Ann and everybody on this forum. It is your post that have kept me on the right side of sanity the past 4 weeks.

Like your doctor, I also do not expect your result to change when you confirm at three months.
