Hi Everybody Thanks for you effort and help trough this page i think is really helpfull for people like me,

38 days Ago i have Sex with a girl that i think it was a prositute( i can`t no be 100% sure because dont remeber to pay anithing) she was Chinese in Shanghai, the point is that we have Oral Sex with out protection i know thanks to this page that oral sex is not a real Risk for VIH, after Oral Sex we have anal Sex with condom the problem is that suddenly i realized that the condom was broke, im not sure how long, i think no more than 5 minutes, another problem is that before anal sex she gave me a handjob and my pennis has some rubber the nex day...
I beeing very worry about for the las 38 days, so today i take the Elisa Test, after 38 Days i will get the results in one week, how accurate can be the result after 37-38 days around, and i was in a low or high risk exposure?

You have had a risk, however I've yet to see the insertive partner end up hiv positive following a condom break.

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seronconversion being only 22 days. A six week negative (or a 38 day negative) must be confirmed at the three month point. Only a three month negative is conclusive.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

Thanks Ann, I do have regulary check up`s the last one was in May and everything was ok STD`s and VIH Negative, so i guess this thing happend it was my first time with a sexworker and the first time that i have a problem with a condom, im pretty sure i will learn for this,  i will wait for the result this week i hope is negative and take another one after 3 months to confirm...

PM, assuming you test negative, which I think is quite likely, that negative result is unlikely to change after 38 days. However, to be secure about the result, you do need to re-test at 13 weeks.
