Overdose of Kaletra
« on: July 12, 2007, 07:09:37 pm »
Hi everyone, I am on a Kaletra + Truvada regimen. I take the Kaletra twice daily. Today at work when I usually take my second dosage of Kaletra I thought I forgot to take it once I came home because my pill box was absent. So I took another dose of Kaletra (2pills) I am usually 99.9% adherent, just merely forgot that I took the second dose at lunch and scared I took the 2nd dose again.
Will this have adverse effects on me, is there anything I can do or should do?
Diagnosed November, 2005
Medications: Truvada (NRTI), Kaletra (PI)

I would assume everyone has done this at one time or another and I've yet to hear of anyone being rushed to a hospital room for OD'ing on HIV medications.  I can't tell you what happens in your body from a medical perspective, but I don't think you need to worry about anything.

There's a possibility that the side effects of Kaletra are temporarily enhanced. Just make sure it doesn't happen too often. If you notice persistent problems, contact your doc.
