I have doubt and need help.
« on: September 30, 2023, 04:14:36 am »
Hello Guys
I really thank you for this forum which help people living with HIV and people with high anxiety.
Here we go ..

Two months ago I had protected vagina sex with sex worker, the condom didn't break but what make me worry that the girl refused the condom I had and she gave me another condom .

After 3 days I had sore throat and my voice was very weak until now.
I have formication (feel like small insect on my body) .
Usually formication happen to me once per year but now almost everyday.

I would like to know if my symptoms look like acute HIV?
(I know you guys Don't discuss symptoms but really I don't have anybody to help me with my anxiety).

My second question
I  I left my work and almost determined due to low performance, I need your advice as I feel that I can't go to test antibodies and feel worry.
My question is living with HIV is possible and can be managble without health problems if I get my treatments?

Thank you in advance

The sore throat has nothing to do with HIV from the encounter three days before. Neither does the formication. Talk to your healthcare provider about the anxiety and what treatment & support options are available.

Generally speaking, with access to treatment, HIV today is medically extremely manageable. It's not a roadblock to living a long, healthy and happy life.

Of course, the sex worker used their own condom to protect them. Anyhow, HIV can't be transmitted through an intact latex or polyurethane condom. Unless a condom obviously fails during intercourse, there is no reason to be stressing or testing for HIV outside the standard yearly HIV screening.

You had sex, move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

Seek professional mental health support for your anxiety.

You didn't acquire HIV from the encounter posted here, so unless you have been engaging in other activities, you don't have HIV.

Good day everyone,
I had vaginal sex with a sex worker.

The issue is that the girl made me wear the condom incorrectly (reversed/upside down). During the vaginal sex, I heard a sound, so I stopped to check the condom, but it was not broken. I continued having sex, and when I finished, I found semen in the middle of the condom (inside it).

I understand logically that it is my semen, but my mind keeps worrying that it could be vaginal discharge.

I want to ask if I am at any risk of HIV. Please note that after sex, I tested the condom with water, and it was intact.
I want also confirm it is my semen not vaginal discharge inside the condom.

Not an HIV risk.

Please do not post about this again and read back the previous answers provided regarding condom usage and move on with your life. Thank you.

P.S

stop filling condoms with water afterwards, it's unnecessary and unhealthy. They are not designed to be used that way, it could damage the condom, mistakenly leading you to think the condom was damaged during sex when you caused the damage after the intercourse by trying to "test" it with water. In short, testing the condom yourself is not a reliable way to tell you anything.

Hello Jim
Please can you clarify more for me please?
My sick mind still has doubt.

First I don't know what was the sound during Sex?
Second thing made me worry is that the liquid I found in the middle of the condom ( I suppose my semen) but it is first time I see it.

Many thanks Jim, I appreciate your help always

Asked and answered already. There is no point repeating your concerns about sounds and fluids in condoms again.

Quote

Read the above again.

Sound doesn't transmit HIV and during sex it is pretty normal  to hear noises if you are doing it correctly and liquid in the condom is not an HIV concern as long as it was intact.

Please don't post again about this as it will result in a ban from the forum.
