Can a CD4 test help estimate when you were infected

When I was diagnosed in 10/07 my initial CD4 count was 8. Can that number help in determining when I was affected?

Assuming I had a count somewhere above 1000 at some point having played sports in college and very active until la\st decade. When I finally drove myself to the hospital it was 8.

I believe I received HIV in 1989 or 1990. I learned a girl I had dated then for a short time died suddenly in 2001 in her late 20's. I bever correlated the two til I was actually diagnosed.

Is there any guideline to help plot my possible CD4 counts during that span.

Because I never sought medical attention during that span I am told I can't be deemed disabled which is absurd. I will take the rest of this to a more proper forum. But hope I can receive some insights before a 11 am meeting regarding my health Yhank you

Without previous CD4 and HIV tests its impossible to determine.

Take a look at my signature line and see how I progressed, with your assumption IF I didnt have previous HIV tests I would guess my infection to be around 6 or 7 years but that would have been way of, since I only took me barely a year to reach a cd4 count in the 200s.

Although, I do recall, rule of thumb, 50-100 CD4s being lost every year in people with untreated HIV, but the again did you have 1600 or 600 CD4s prior to contracting the virus?

And we are back to square one.....

Why do you assume you had 1000 CD4 before HIV?  Being an athlete is not a measure of how many CD4 you have.

No, your CD4 test cannot estimate when you were infected.  Not every person without HIV has the same "normal" CD4 count (and it has nothing to do with being an athlete), and there is no rule of thumb for how a person's CD4 count declines over time with HIV.  Some people's CD4 count declines rapidly in 1 or 2 years, other manage to go much longer (10+ years).

Still, your CD4 count alone won't determine your eligibility for disability.

Very resiliant last year my docctor told me. My body had rejected. Hep c which he personally had seen before. I have also lived. By plan for the worse. And try like hell for the. Best this aids is tough. Losing first one of these battle. Seems hiv girls don't exist in my world and I seem to have less money. I hope I never get that aids again.. I you saw other post I am down to my rocks or someone needs a golf pimp. Lol

Yes I'm extremely strange and am indeed trying to receive social security benefits. I have been receiving ssi disability since 2008.
I was infected with HIV since 1990 but was first diagnosed in 2007.
due to my limited work history I would need to show I was disabled as of june of 2004 or three years before I sought medical help in 2007

if you're already receiving ssD, I think you have to wait until 62/65 to receive ssI
