Hi,

I haven't been here before, but i did post last year on your old site. I have gotten myself into a perdictament again. I did learn to use protection everytime just like you all told me, but here is my story, i met a girl on line, she came down to see me and told me the old story about how she was a virgin and all, but i knew better, so we got a room and i gave her oral and she gave me oral then we had protected sex, i washed up and went home. I love to have sex with different women and it is going to kill me i know, but i can't stop. So i visit massage parlors once and a while. Well, i came into a little money back in decemeber and couldn't resist, i went 3 times in december and had protected sex, as far as i could tell the condoms stayed intact. I did remove the condom once to ejaculate on her back, but no pentration without it. Since new years day i have felt awful, no energy, i had headache once that was so bad i vomited a few times, but i have had muscle aches and tiredness since then. What do yall think?

oh yeah, i had just had tooth break about a week before i gave the girl oral, and once while i was having sex with one of the massage girls, the condom slipped off about half way down the shaft, but i caught it and put it back on.

You had protected sex, you were never at risk. This is not an HIV concern. See your doctor for your symptoms.

Nothing you have reported put you in any way at risk for HIV.

So whatever is going on with your symptoms has nothing to do with HIV. Discuss the issue with your doctor if you're concerned.

What you ought to keep in mind since you're sexually active is that it's a good idea to regularly have a full STD panel done. There are other STDs which are much easier to acquire than HIV. So a full panel done at least annually and every six months is even better.

But as far as HIV is concerned, that's not the issue. Keep using those condoms everytime you have intercourse and you'll be ok as far as HIV is concerned.

i know you get these repeated questions even after you have answered them, i know you told me i wasn't at risk, but is it possible that maybe one of the condoms had a small hole in it? I am still have back stiffness, and my feet have begun to hurt, especially in the mornings when i first get on them, does this sound like anything you have ever heard?

I've heard about every symptom you can come up with. The fact is you were protected and you didn't have a risk. None of your symptoms is in anyway specific to HIV. You did not have a risk.

hi all,

I still am having aches and pains all over, like i have never had before also have chronic headaches. I went back to my Doctor and she told me i have fibromyalgia. She didn't look down my throat, check my glands or even recommend HIV test. I have read on your site that patients with HIV commonly have fibromyalgia, my pains haven't changed much, does this sound familiar to anyone?

NO and you are going back to symptoms which has nothing to do with HIV. You didn't have a risk, so it is not an HIV concern.

Your head has decided HIV is an issue. There's no basis in HIV science to think that is a reality in this situation.

You need to be discussing your concerns with your doctor. You haven't done anything which would cause your doctor to think HIV is an issue. Because it isn't.

Bring it up with your doctor if you like, but I don't see any cause for concern nor any need for HIV testing.

A qualified specialist in medicine, who went to school for around 10 years to learn about the human body and what affects it just told you the cause of your symptoms and you decide not to listen to them?

I would humbly suggest that you speak to a mental health professional about the fear and anxiety you are having with HIV. It will help Im sure of it.

i know, i know, i am hardheaded. i am sorry. I just got my bloodwork panel back and turns out i have gotten HEP A, which you can get from not washing your hands or not cleaning your food good. I guess that is what is causing this feeling.

As your doctor has told you or will tell you there's no effective medication for Hep A.

What you need to do is rest, eat well and cut back on alcohol consumption.

You can have sex with as many different partners as you like. Just make sure you always use a condom for intercourse, whether vaginal or anal. And it's a good idea to get tested regularly with a full STD panel. Annually is good and every six months is even better because many STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV.

i just have a question... i have had unprotected sex with two ladies i know. According to them they knew their status to be negitive, but, since then i found out different. My question is, if i were to have symptoms would they all come at once during seroconversion or would they be staggered? I started having sharp stabbing pains in my joints and stinging numbness pain in my feet and fingers and hands and now i have somewhat of a rash on my chest. I had blood work for STDs about 4 weeks after, all negitive, but i know hiv doesnt show that fast and have waited. I will be testing next week which will be 6 weeks

First of all, please keep all of your entries in this same thread rather than beginning a new one when you have further questions or comments. I've merged your latest question with your previous thread. Thanks for your cooperation.

When ARS occurs, the symptoms come all at the same time and are gone in a week or two. But because ARS often resemble so many other things like flu, neither the absence nor the presence of symptoms is ever the way to know accurately about HIV status. The ONLY way is by getting testing at the appropriate time, which the CDC says to do at 13 weeks.

A negative at 6 weeks is very encouraging because all but the smallest number who are going to seroconvert will do so within 4-6 weeks after an exposure to the virus. But you still need to re-test at 13 weeks to confirm the earlier result.

You also need to learn from this experience. Although HIV is not an easy virus to transmit from female to male, low risk is not the same as no risk. You can have all the sex you like and with as many partners as you like. You just need to do it the safer way, which means that everytime, without exception when you have vaginal or anal intercourse you make sure that you're wearing a latex condom.

Since our last discussion i still haven't gotten tested, i know i need to but, i just cant bring myself to it. If i had contracted hiv is chronic upper abdomen discomfort a known disorder of hiv? I am still having it.

You don't seem to be listening. Neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms will ever tell you anything accurately about your HIV status. If your stomach is bothering you that's something to discuss with your doctor. It could as easily be emotional in origin but again, a doctor will have to diagnose what's going on.

Only a test at 13 weeks can give you a reliable and definitive answer. The real question with you is how long you're going to drag this drama out. I do expect you will test negative when you decide to do it.

We've done what we can for you here and we're not going to diagnose your symptoms. Because we can't.

Get tested.
