1st AMG in Toronto and our first ambassador- Gregory
« on: September 09, 2011, 11:36:57 am »
I was thinking recently about our first ever AMG in Toronto in 2005 and how nervous we all were to meet for the first time.  All we knew about each other was our posts on this website and we gathered for the initial AMG and we broke the ice and it was wonderful.  I know for each subsequent AMG new folks have come, nervous as well no doubt, and many stayed since then and that is terrific.

It was also nice to see Greg (Gregory Scott611) post in my thread on AMG'11 which may have been missed by RAB, Jan and some others who met our first real AMG ambassador when we gathered in Toronto.  Greg's advice on the city was critical to our successful gathering.  Glad Greg is doing well and hope he comes to our next one.  Can doyourowndamndishes be far behind again?

Jody

What a thoughtful post.  I certainly do remember Gregory, he was a huge help in finding us a place for the meet and greet (LUB?), assembling the welcome bags, and suggestions on what to see and do.

I sincerely hope he can make the next one, it would be great to see him again.   :-*

I was trying to remember who all went to Toronto.  You, me, jan, Killfoile and Steven, Ric  :'( and Thom, Trish, Bailey, Moffie  :'(, Quarterhorse and his friend (she and Bailey were the wild ones) LOL .  I'm drawing a blank now who else was there.  And you're right we all were nervous, but it only lasted about 15 seconds once we started meeting one another, the bond was born.

I roomed with Richfkc and dishes was there and Robert arrived for about 48 hours all the way from California. There was another Toronto local.  There was Brian and Glinda you are correct, they were a blast.  Trish as well, we stay in touch on fb...I have to think who else.

Thanks Jan for the first AMG roster...I remember Marcus, I think he lived in Arizona, he was quite a hot guy and a nice fellow too, wish he had returned, hope Marcus is doing well.  And how on earth could I forget meeting Hermie as well for the first time in Toronto, he was a wonderful, fun man to be with, the laughs alone make it all worthwhile.  Jeremy sounds familiar, I'm drawing a blank on him.  I think dishes' name was Alan and he was with his partner or friend some of the time.  I still think of Bailey, I know things didn't go well here with the website at the end but I miss Baileykins.  In Montreal he got off the elevator on the floor of the hotel we shared and surprised me by pinning me to the wall between the elevators and kissing me.  I think even Bailey was surprised when I stuck my tongue down his throat.  Good times yes...And I'll fully be expecting some hot guy next year to do no less!!!!!!! :D

Nice memories, six years already!
