Title: Need help - URGENT
Post by: mvadde on June 08, 2014, 08:26:28 am
Hi All,

A girl I met in a Spa rubbed my penis on top of her vagina for nearly over a minute. There was no penetration. My penis however got in contact with plenty of her vaginal fluids. I saw there was plenty of fluid however, I did not think of potential HIV threat only after few days later.

My question is, whether it is ever possible to get infected with HIV from what i have described above. My precum definitely got in touch with hers.

Into the 4th week after the exposure now, I am having sever sore-throat and mild fever.

You did not have an exposure or a risk for HIV . Vaginal fluids are not infectious for HIV, they come from a gland near the opening of the vagina . HIV if present resides deep in the vagina in a mucosa near the cervix .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you did not have a risk and do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Many thanks Jeff! Appreciated!

I have read elsewhere that vaginal fluids can carry the virus. My penis head (the opening) had plenty of precum and certainly got in contact with her precum (vaginal fluids) while they are fresh.

I am married and have had sexual contact with my wife after the above encounter. I am extremely worried that i may given her the disease. This is beyond i can take..

Is there even a slightest chance that this encounter could result in HIV? I have not asked about blowjob cos I know it is relatively safe and I am fine with it. But it is the once above that is killing me alive.

Rubbing and frottage is not a risk and no one has ever been infected that way in 30 years so you will not be the first . HIV is far to fragile to be transmitted in that manner . Vaginal fluids are not infectious for HIV ... hiv can be found in trace amounts in tears and vaginal fluids but are not in sufficient amounts to be infectious . If you had a risk we would be begging you to go test ... it was not a risk .

Hi Jeff, I greatly appreciate your help so far. Please bare with me to answer few more questions.

Would you change your stance on this if I had a cut on my penis head? There is cut and 4 weeks into the exposure it still is there.

Also I just read on "thebody.com" the following.

Quote
Which body fluids transmit HIV?

These body fluids have been shown to contain high concentrations of HIV:

blood
semen
vaginal fluid
breast milk
other body fluids containing blood

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
