Ever get the impression you are not getting the whole story, or that something big is about to unfold.
I'm assuming this stuff is being reported elsewhere - the stories about the cyber attacks on Google and some 20 other big companies, the warnings that Internet Explorer is not safe from cyber attacks, companies prohibiting any staff visiting China from using any telecommunications or IT equipment.
I get the feeling that there has been a very major security breach somewhere (beyond the attacks on google and other companies) in all this and that we are yet to be told all the details.

Google wants China to abolish Internet censorship. Rod, the problem for the US is that China now holds the purse strings. They could cripple the US if they decide to stop funding your debt.

Soy Beans and Corn can be used in the making of ethanol to be used right here in the US. Won't hurt the US as much as it would China.

Serously Rod, don't be so arrogant and cocky, or is it naive? My understanding is that China is pretty much self sufficient when it comes to food. And anyway, it could get food from pretty much anywhere that it wants, I don't think the US has a monopoly on world food supply.
America on the other hand owes China over $800 billion and climbing. It is the single largest foreign holder of US Treasurys - if China pulled the plug you would be royally screwed. If you don't think it will use this debt as leverage, you are kidding yourself and living in fantasy land.

I think China along with others are making long term plans ; ( two parts to this)

China is not dumb,they see how the internet has made the US state run media,ABC,NBC and CBS irrelevant.
One of the main reasons China attacked Google and Yahoo is a counter move to the anti trade and protectionist policies of US the past few months.

By the way, Microsoft, released the patch today,( see my earlier post), to fix that security flaw in Internet Explorer. If your using Internet Explorer, don't forget to download it, from Windows updates.
