Crazy
« on: November 03, 2006, 04:25:23 pm »
I must be crazy but I'm looking into vision therapy (Nova Vision VRT). Found out today the evaluation is $500 and if I qualify the equipment and therapy will run another $5,500. It's not covered by insurance so that's out of pocket. Thank goodness for plastic. I hear it pays to Discover. :) Next October when my medical leave ends at work I'll be terminated and I'll be able to cash out my 401K so if all goes as I plan I'll be able to pay off the therapy then. I'm nervous but my gut is telling me I have to try it. My vision is the only thing holding me back and if I don't try it I'll never know.

Am I crazy to do this or what?  ???

Have a great weekend!
Jeff

Do they offer any kind of compassionate use program? Are they doing any research anywhere that you could join? Just thinking of things to help defray the cost...

Can you appeal to your insurance company to pay for it?

No, your not crazy. If I were in your shoes, I would try anything I could to help.

Hey Jeff,

I have even considered doing the same thing with the Vision Correction. It is a shame that your insurance will not cover the procedure. However, you do have the ability to Discover.

In fact, life is about experiencing. Go for it!

Forgive my dumbness.....but what is entailed in vision therapy? ....or you could just point me to the place to read up on it.

Wow! This sounds very promising. I say go for it hon.
I'm going to ask Alan to look at this too, to see if his friend could be a candidate for this.
How neat.
