-Hi all, I've been co-infected [HIV & HCV] since 1995 and even though my body weight hasn't decreased that much over the years [even when i was doing heroin and smoking like a chimney] my muscle mass has decreased. I lost my job and being really inactive for the past 3 years hasn't help at all.

-For the past 3/4 months I've been trying hard to improve my diet, my overall health and gain a bit of muscle mass. I don't wanna get really buff just improve a little bit.

-My HIV status is UD and HCV/Liver has mild scaring [has been like that for the past 6 years]. Hopefully my Hep.C doctor will start my Hep treatment early next year. New meds makes a cure really promising.

-I've started doing light exercise but I want to step things up a little bit. I've been looking into Whey Protein to help things along. Done a bit a research [here and other sites] and it seems to be the safest option [if you like]. Same articles I've seen in the last few days that suggest Whey Protein actually improves the overall health of HIV and HCV patients.

I'm no expert in any of this .... do you guys think Whey Protein [+ exercise] would help improve my muscle mass ??

I don't wanna take too much of the stuff, maybe 20/30g once a day in a homemade shake. When's the best time to take the protein, morning or after exercises ??

I'd appreciate your input on this.
Thanks in advance.
