When the cat is away...
« on: August 23, 2009, 01:08:30 am »
So here is a question for all of you who live with a significant other: what forbidden pleasures do you indulge in when he or she is out of town? My coworkers and I were discussing this and here are some of the things I do when my partner is out of town (which is often):

- Run the dishwasher (my partner thinks it is a waste of electricity and uses it as a $400 drying rack)
- Watch sci-fi, fantasy or gay themed movies
- Order Moo Goo Gai Pan from the Chinese takeout place (I say delicious, he says bland)
- Let the dogs on the bed
- Not put the decorative pillows on the bed (the dogs and I are the only ones going to see the bedroom and we don't care!)
- Throw away expired food from the freezer (my partner confuses freezing with suspended animation)
- Play Xbox at deafening levels until my hands cramp

Damn you have one of those $400 dish drying racks too?

Sometimes I like to live on the wild side so I leave the toilet seat up........

Not much....I tend to do everything when he's here (hence all the fighting).

But I do go to Hummingbird bakery (probably one of the few American-style bakeries here) and buy shit loads of cupcakes (red velvet, yum).  And I sometimes invite friends to spend the night over, usually after a big night out in town.

Ford,

I take complete charge of the TV remote, and enjoy watching what I want to watch; he doesn't care much for movies made before the 1990's, and my fav's are from the 30's thru 70's.....

I also throw out food from the refrig. and the freezer....

It was started by some Americans frustrated with finding desserts you normally find at home.  So you get Red Velvet cakes/cupcakes, Mississippi mud pies, key lime pies, Boston cream pies, pumpkin pies, pound cakes and brownies with walnuts in them (amazing how hard it is to get brownies with walnuts in them)!  The cupcakes are their specialty!  Yum.

Interesting! So many things in bakeries in the US originated other countries I was wondering what would be considered American.

1.Watch something else on TV besides the Cartoon Network, and Soap Opera's

2. Kick out the Cats and take up the whole Bed

3. Cook a TV Dinner for myself or go get some Asian Take Out (always nice when you don't have to cook all of the time)
4. Go down to the local Gay Bar, shoot some pool, and buy a Pitcher of flat Beer ( Maybe I'll find someone to help me drink it)
5. Turn off some of the lights and PC's on in the house to save $$$ on the Electric Bill

6. Throw out all of Bob's Junk Food, like Cheese It's, Gummy Bears (he's a heart Patient) and should NOT be eating ANY of this crap....

7. Sleep in.... fuck the Cats...fuck cleaning anything, nothing to really get up for, if it's just me at home by myself

I just dropped Michael off at the airport.  On the way home, I stopped at TJ's to buy, among other things, a gallon of chocolate ice cream.

Just finished dinner....now time for dessert.
