ISHEID Conference Song: “A World Without AIDS”
The organizers of the forthcoming “International Symposium on HIV and Emerging Infectious Diseases” (ISHEID) to be held in Marseilles (France), 23-25 May 2012, are pleased to announce the production of a Hip Hop song that will embody the main objectives of this meeting.

lyrics
I used to think AIDS only happened to gays
Or to promiscuous drug users who act a disgrace
Not an urgent problem that I thought would be hurting me
The worst thing in my mind was no more Freddie Mercury
A pity certainly, but it didn't hit me personally
And hey, if people take risks then maybe they deserve to be
Made terminally ill, permanently filled
With a reminder that their lifestyle can earn you being killed
See there's still a stigma isn't there?
An ugly ignorance to which I was a prisoner
A bitterness preserved like we pickled it in vinegar
And millions of us are thinking something similar
But the more I thought about it, the more I felt it
How can we all ignore this call for help, it's more than selfish
Will it take a plague on all your houses
Before you shake your apathy away and sort it out, its:

Happening to all of us
Happening to all of us

While it's happening to one of us, it's happening to all of us
Whether or not you practice cautiousness, it's torturous
And though the road to a cure may be tortuous
We bought a ticket to it and we're all aboard the bus
I'm the sort to cause a fuss until I get given
a pair of scissors with which to snip the red ribbon
Fed up of stigmas being left hidden
Pushed to the sidelines like Meg Griffin, head tripping
We're the ones with bad blood, must have had our neck bitten
And that's a fact that needs a little bit of recognition
It's an expedition, of which the the epic mission
is for every victim of this epidemic to be left living, its:

Happening to all of us
Happening to all of us

I'm not a big fan of Hippy De Hoppity music so instead I'm going to compose a new version of the song. You can sing along. The song is to the tune of the fabulous 80s song  " Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" by Wham!

AIDSBUG

AIDSBUG

AIDSBUG

AIDSBUG

You put The AIDSBUG into my arse
You shot your load bareback and didn't you didn't disclose
AIDSBUG into My brain
Goes a Bang Bang Bang as the toxplasma cysts explode
But the meds will save Me
If I take them just right
No more dripping wet sheets when I wake up in the night
Just health care bills
In debt over my head
Wish I was dreaming, but at least I'm no longer the living dead

(chorus)
Make up will hide the kaposi's
Facial fillers will ensure no one notices
Make up will hide the kaposi's
Smoke the medical Marijuana and well soon be high!

I thought the lyrics to the World AIDS day rap were a bit sketchy in some places but maybe I'm reading them wrong.  Perhaps they come off differently with a beat. :-\
I despise the song Love is in the Air, you should too.
