Happy Spring GFs!

Yes, Ice and I were married on Valentine's Day and everything was perfect!  I haven't been around bec the two blizzards really backed things up at work.

Let's see, 2 ft of snow on 2/5 and work was closed for 5 days.
Back to work for a day on 2/12 and then the wedding on 2/14.   ;D
A few days off with Ice and then back to work for 2 days - TAX SEASON
I JUST caught up with work yest and I can breathe.
Now I have to do MY taxes this weekend.

Cheech turned 16 on 2/2 and loved all of the snow we had!  We turned the AC on today for the first time because of all of the pollen.

Ice and I are prob going on a cruise in the fall for our honeymoon, still planning it now.

My renter is a doofus and Ice and I keep going back and forth about what we want to do with him.  I guess we'll let him stay, but once my home gets some value back, we'll sell it, in a few years.

Can't post many pics from the wedding bec of respecting the privacy of the others, but I'll see what I can do.

I've missed all of you!

~ MRS. Cindy  lol

So good to hear from you Cin, er, I mean Mrs. Cin. :D  That's a great pic in your avatar.  You have my e-mail address, don't you?  If not, I could pm it to you, and you could e-mail me some pics of the wedding.  It just would save you from having to post them here, if you don't want to do that.  Congrats, and welcome back!

Hi Ladies!
Congrats on your marriage,  Mrs. Cin!

Hi BT- How are you?  How is work going?  Did you get the funding you needed? Thanks for your info, I still haven't found anything yet  :'(

HI Keeping!- Did you catch on your rest yet?

Netta- Sorry to hear that you were sick but glad you are feeling better.  Good to hear your move went well too.

Queen- How are things with you?  My oldest was in NYC this weekend with his Boy Scout troop.  They saw the Statue of Liberty and went to the Empire State Building, Central Park and the Museum of Natural History. I wish I could go one of these days, I have never been to NYC before, sounds like a lot of fun.

My court date went as well as it good have. He might leave me alone for good now. He got loud and obnoxious as usual, and kept saying to the judge that I snuck up to the jail and got pregnant, since that is pretty much the only thing he has on me that I have done wrong.  He neglected to mention that he used to threaten to have me or my mother hurt  and tell my job and my friends about my HIV,  and slipped off the condom so that I would get pregnant, if I didn't go.  She ignored him anyway.  The best part was that his ex-wife was there to support me and he told the judge that because she got a permanent restraining order on him after he had already completed anger management classes for my cases, the two had nothing to do with each other. I think then, things really clicked for the judge and she told him they were very relevant and she dismissed the whole case. FINALLY! I kinda feel like a weight has been lifted but part of me feels like he is so stubborn and stupid, he might bring me back to court again.  If he does, we have to start back at the beginning. Other than that, haven't been up to much, the kids and I all got strep.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Latrice, good to hear from you!

Snow, you just keep looking, something will come up.  Remember how long it took me?  Also, good news about the court date!  I hope this is it, and he gets out of your hair, for good.

Netta, yeah, spring is here.  I've seen a couple Robins, which is a sure sign of spring.  Of course, here we can still get snow into May.  It's nice today, though.  51F right now.

Nothing exciting going on with me.  Just working.  The church where I work is going to try to raise a lot of money, to avoid closing.  Everyone who prays, please say a prayer for us, that we stay open.

Hey Ladies---

Sheesh Mrs. Cindy....It's about damn time you chimed in lady...But I understand you being busy...And that avatar pic, you're beaming so much I need to put on my  8)...You know I am happy for you chica.

I am doing ok, just getting a bit frustrated because nothing has panned out with housing yet and I have been in this shelter for 2 months now. I have one month left and possibly an extra month if they give me an extension. I have still been in touch with my Hasa worker but it seems nothing else is jumping off there either. My housing apps went to 10 Hasa vendors and I haven't heard anything back yet. Not sure what my options are, I just refuse to go to another shelter especially like the nasty one I came from. I have something going on in the backburner, that should be panning out in a few weeks....Snow, you're going to have to text me ur mailing info so I can send that back to you.

The weather has been typical spring....hot then rain then cool weather. I think my allergies are kicking in because I have been coughing uncontrollably at times. Still has stopped smoking though I still partake of the good green, I have cut back on that as well too. I did go to see the neurologist but still has to schedule the MRI appointment.

Not much else going on...lMuch love to you all..... :-*

Tendai, it sure is good to hear from you.  Visit us more often!

Queen, I hope that apartment comes through for you.  I'm thinking about you alot, and I wonder how you're making it.  Keep going, I know something good's going to happen, it has to.

Yeah, typical spring here also.  Last week it was sunny and in the 60's, this morning it's only 21F, with highs only supposed to be in the 40's.  It was raining yesterday, but today it's supposed to be a bit sunnier.  Nothing much going on right now........

I started my dredlocks last week, they are real short now, I will wear a wig in the mean time.
Spring is here, one day, winter the next! 70 one day 45 the next! go figure?
Lucy is driving me crazy in the house, but when I let her outside she gets into everything and eats leaves and cones that fall from the tree. The back yard is fenced in but she still manages to squeeze her body out! lol.Good to here from you Queen, much luck to you!

Have a great weekend !

Netta, good luck with the dreads.  And what I've learned from having dogs in the past, is that they can probably squeeze through anywhere they want to get through.  Good luck with Lucy!

Queen, always good to hear from you.  I hope things are going at least alright?

I've been busy because, the church I work at, it's their 'holy week,' and there's tons of work to do.  I've been pretty tired lately also, not sure why.  Just need to sleep I guess.  I hope you all are doing alright.

Well, I'll chime and hopefully someone is still lurking around. You know as the weather changes and it gets warmer so do our routines. We get out more, take on new things. So, I understand you being busy, Betty. I still did not take out my braids yet. It's a chore and I am dreading it but will do next week after I go look at an apartment.

My son is due to get out next month. I am so happy, I haven't seen my baby in 2 years. I plan on going back home once he gets out to visit him. So, you see why it is imperative I find a place. And the shelter is not going to hold my room. I am excited to see him and will be taking a lot of pictures.

Betty, you can say I am alright. Sometimes I feel alright and sometimes I don't. I got a little depressed yesterday. Still waiting on what we discussed. Otherwise, I am alright.

Queen, that's great news about your son!  I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed about the apartment.  I'm so hoping something happens for you, fast.

Netta, I'm trying to get some rest.  I woke up today at my usual wake up time during the work week, then went back to sleep for an hour.  That's all my cat would let me sleep in. ::)

It's supposed to be 80f degrees today.  Yesterday it reached 81.  Then, the temp is supposed to tank.  Well, not like winter temps, but 50's.  We get Monday off work, and I'm so glad.

Other than that, there are other things going on, that I'll talk about sometime.  Have a good one all!

It's a chore and I am dreading it but will do next week

So perhaps the name dreadlocks came from the effort?  ;)
It's probably a different derivation, but it just struck me when I read this.

Hey Ladies----

Not much going on with me. I am just enjoying the weather. It's a little cool today, it's in the 60's. I did go out yesterday. I bought a tv and a dvd player yesterday. I really didn't have a choice. There had been some issues going on with the tv room. I guess it had got so bad that they shut down the tv room. And it is no fun looking at the walls. And after paying my phone bill, I am almost tapped out. Good things are in the horizon for me. Housing is still moving slow. I am suppose to be going to see some places on Monday, I think. Stay tuned on that one. I have come up with a plan B though.

I am also hoping my son has learned his lesson. But I am also concerned because from what I am being told from my sister and bff, things are getting bad back home. Lots of bank robberies and shooting. Lots of drugs still around. He's suppose to go to a halfway house when he first gets out. I can picture him getting frustrated by not being able to find a job. I can only hope for the best. We are close so I will try to beat some sense into his head. He doesn't have any kids, thank the goddess. But has mentioned in the past wanting one. He sees what his two cousins are going through with child support. Every year they get locked up. So, that kind of made sense to him.

Queen, I'll be thinking about you today.  Please let us know how it goes.

Snow, good to hear from you.  Please visit us more often. ;)

I'm off today.  I guess it's because the pastor feels she needs time off after Easter.  Today, in my town, it's Dyngus Day.  It's a Polish thing, and a political thing.  The candidates who are up for re-election (I know one of them is our congressman) go to clubs in the area to visit with people.  And they have traditional Polish food everywhere.  It's not anything I've ever taken part in.

On another note, the inside of my lower left leg has been in a lot of pain lately.  It started last week.  I thought I might have banged it, and not remembered, but it's only getting worse.  So, I'm going to call my bone doctor today and make an appointment.  I wish I knew, without going to the doctor, what's wrong.  But, I need a new brace anyway, so I guess it'll be a good thing going, since the bone doc's the one who got me my brace in the first place.             I guess that's it for now.  You all have a good day.

Howdy Folks----

Well today was a bust....It seems no one callled back when my housing workers made inquirires about those 3 apartments. I had even started looking online myself. I found a few. My worker called them in front of me, one sounded like a scam of some sort.Get this.....they accepted Hasa but only wanted someone who was on welfare, getting cash not anyone who collects social security...I was like WTF? My worker said something just wasn't right about that. The other one we called, the phone just rang. In this day and age, I thought everyone had voicemail or an answering machine. Needless to say I am feeling a little bummed about it all. I have one month left here at the shelter.

Betty, definitely see the doctor. I have to get my MRI done on the 13th. I still need to see a doctor but I have it on the backburner. I am trying to find a place first so I can find a doctor close to me. I am hoping things will be better. I have changed my diet. I gave up drinking sodas. I drink juice or vitamin water. I am making plans to start going to the gym, seriously this time...*lol* I did stop smoking but the stress of housing cause me to smoke again. I have a pack now but has decided when this one is done, I will quit again. Start taking my wellbutrin and be on my way. I was actually surprised that it helped me to quit.

The weather has been nice so I have been getting out. Wednesday it is suppose to be 83..I am loving it.

hie ladies

hope everyone had a great Easter.

my easter was great. i went to see my parents and sisters, one of who had a baby girl.  so cute, if she could talk she would have said "enough with the kissing please!!!" we couldnt stop kissing and fighting over her when she was awake.  another of my sisters is also pregnant. so im the only one who doesnt have a baby in the whole family!!! i know my boyfriend wasnt us to have one but im kinda terrified/nervous. first of all we'd have to get married. i think thats the only way i can get sure enough of myself to actuallly try and get pregnant. think i'll go over the posts of all those who've had babies just to reassure myself. and get syringes or turkey basters hee hee

netta - i hope they find him soon ang serve his ass! im glad u've got pace of mind and all is well with you

queen - im happy for you, seeing your son again.  happy reunion!

betty - sorry about all the pain. i hope the doctor can do something about it..

Queen, sorry about those apartments.  I know you say you have a month left there, but they can't kick you out into the street.  I'm still pullin' for ya, and always will be.  And good luck with the smoking.  It's been 5 days since I had a smoke.  I went on the Chantix again, but am only taking 1 pill a day instead of 2.  It makes me very aggitated.  I don't get the suicidal feelings some people get, but I think that's because of already being on an antidepressant.  Anyway, I have been thinking almost all the time about how nice a smoke would be.  I'm trying not to give in, but damn, it's hard.

Netta, congrats on signing the papers!  I hope they find your ex so he can sign as well.

Tendai, it's always good to hear from you.  I love babies!

I have an appointment with my bone doctor Friday.  I'm going to try to talk him into a new brace while I'm there.  The one I have now I've had for 5 years, and it's getting worn.  If I don't wear it, the bones in my kneecap pop in and out of each other.

Yesterday, being that it was the day after Easter, all the Easter candy went on sale 1/2 off.  I got some for the grandkids, who are out of town at the moment.  So when they get back, Nana has some candy for them.  I also bought some for myself.                        I guess that's it for now.  Have a good one.

Betty-- No, they can't kick me out into streets. Instead they will tansfer me to another shelter. The shelter they are talking about sending me to is worse than the one I came from. I am trying to quit smoking again but it is hard because I am stressed out about the housing. I was doing good when there was nothing going on, ya know? I still have some wellbutrin. I just can't start til something gives.

Netta-- I know you are relieved that it is all over. There is no need for you to worry about what he is doing, that chapter of your life is closed. Leave it that way and move on, girl. I hope things are getting better with your dog, Lucy. Once I find a place, I have considered getting a pet but then again not. I said Lucifer would be the last cat I get. If I got a dog it would have to be a small one. I think Yorkies are cute.

Tendai--always good to hear from you. I definitely understand where you are coming from regarding getting pregnant. That's a big decision, kids are expensive these days.

Queen, I totally agree that trying to quit smoking during very stressful times is not a good idea.  It's been a week since I quit, and I still think about it almost every moment of every day.  And this may sound strange, but when I think about things that "may" happen, it stresses me out more than it did when I was smoking.  I don't know if that makes sense.  And maybe it's because I had an outlet for the stress (smoking) and I need to find another outlet.  I take Welbutrin, have for quite awhile, but it didn't help me quit.  I was originally prescribed Welbutrin for quitting, but I just kept taking it for the antidepressant effect.  Chantix is definitely not for everyone, with its possible side effect of feeling suicidal, but I think since I'm already on an antidepressant, that's why that side effect didn't happen to me.  It does make me pretty aggitated, though, so I take 1/2 of what's prescribed.

I don't like the fact that they're going to transfer you to another shelter if you can't find other housing.  I don't know why they won't let you stay where you're at.  Doesn't make sense.  I hope things start happening, I really do.  Stay strong, and know I'm thinking about you, and hoping.

When I got back to the shelter last night there was a note waiting for me. It was info to go see an apartment today. I went, it was an hour on the train. I liked the place. So, I had to go to the realty office, another 30 minutes on the train. By the time I get there, the place is packed full of homeless women. After awhile they left, I guess they got tired of waiting.

When I did meet with someone, he couldn't believe that Hasa is only willing to pay 962. The apartment is 1050. 88 freaing bucks, he said he was going to talk to the landlord and my worker. I am hoping I will get it but at the same time, I don't want to get my hopes up.

I am gonna quit smoking again today. I smoked my last cig. I noticed that my throat has been hurting since I started again. Plus I noticed I have a hard time breathing when I do. Back on the Wellbutrin in the morning.....

Looking forward to Friday..... ;)

Hello Queen,

I'm new to this site and I just wanted to let you know that HOPE is the best thing you have...  I am hoping I will get it but at the same time, I don't want to get my hopes up. :)

Many things that are attained in life cost something (sometimes it's money, other times it's patience and sometimes faith will help us out)  I read a little of what you posted and wanted to encourage you to keep that faith going.  Nothing in life just happens.  Many times there are blessings (opportunities) waiting for us to take hold of them and fear causes us to let go...  Hold on and watch the blessings come to you.  Have a great day  & be blessed (empowered to prosper)   I think you're on the right track...ttys

Psalm 18:16-18 (New Century Version)

The Lord reached down from above and took me; he pulled me from the deep water.  He saved me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me, because they were too strong for me.  They attacked me at my time of trouble, but the Lord supported me.

Jamie, it sure is good to hear from you.

Queen, I hope things get worked out so you can get the apartment.  It sure is expensive, but that is New York.  Keep your chin up!

I went to the doctor today because of the pain I've been having in my left lower leg, and she said I have tibial facitis (or fascitis, don't remember how to spell it).  I looked it up when I got home, and apparently my connective tissue in my tibia is inflammed.  I don't know that I trust what she diagnosed it as, we'll see.  She prescribed a steroid to take, but I'm not going to take it.  I was told it would make my blood sugar crazy high for a bit, and I don't want to deal with that, plus all the emotional crap it could cause.  I'll just increase my Motrin a bit, and see if that helps.  The doc said to follow up with my doc in a few days, so I'll call his office Monday (they're closed now for the weekend).  I'm going to look into going to a new orthopaedist.  The one I was seeing seemed very phobic because of the HIV, and I really don't need that.  The pharmacy tech where I get my scripts was telling me about hers, just raving about him.  So, I'm going to call his office as soon as they're back from lunch.

I also have to go to the cop shop to get a background report for section 8.  This is something new-they want to know if 1) a person's a lifetime registered sex offender; 2) ever got convicted of a felony; 3) if someone's been convicted of anything other than a traffic violation, which is yes.  And they want a police report.  I hate to do this, and I don't think it's any of their business.  When I was strung out, I got convicted 3 x of a theft charge.  The last one I believe was about 7 years ago.  So, I hope that doesn't cause me any damage.  I also have to get something from social security with proof of the amount of money I get every month.  I also have to get a letter to have my doc fill out so I can get a handicap hangtag for my car.  I should have gotten one before probably, but I figured someone in a wheelchair was worse off.  Well, now that it's pretty painful to walk, I want to park closer to buildings.  I also need to get registered for school in the fall.  If I'm still accepted into the program I was going to get into last fall.  I don't know if I'm going to accomplish everything today.  It makes me tired just typing it.  I've already been to the Med Point, and shopping.  I could take a nap right now, but there's too much to do.                 I hope everyone is having a good day, and a great weekend.  So many people not posting anymore, I hope everyone's alright.

Today is a much better day than yesterday. I have received a blessing today that is for sure. I haven't heard anything back yet about the apartment. Betty, since I now live in Manhattan my worker is suppose to be from the manhattan office. I am still dealing with the worker from Brooklyn. Even the realtor said Hasa should be paying more than that. He deals with them all the time. I am still trying to keep my head up though.

Talked to my oldest sister earlier. My brother is back in the hospital. His dialysys shunt isn't working. I wasn't told anything. I guess that is my brother's response to my going off on him the last time. Hope it works out for him. Betty, I hope your pain gets better. Yeah, steroids will do a number on your sugars. They wanted to give me some for my ear when I was back home but they couldn't.

I am off to watch some Smackdown......lataz

Good to hear from you, Missy, and glad all is well with the boyfriend.

Queen, I hope they get that HASA stuff straightened out.  I'm getting to the point where I don't trust any government agency, to do what they're supposed to do.  Do you know if they're going to switch the worker, since you're living in Manhattan?  I mean, that would only make sense.   Sorry to hear about your brother.  I've heard dialysis is no fun, but of course it is life-saving for some people.

Well, I went to the cop shop.  It cost $5 for them to run a background check.  I was thinking it would show up with all my charges, but no.  The lady called me to the counter, and it showed on the paper "2003-warrant."  She said not to worry, that it involved an old traffic accident.  When she first showed me the paper, my heart started pounding a bit.  I was thinking that when I was strung out I did something, and didn't remember, and was going to jail.  So, anyway, that went alright.  I hope the section 8 worker takes it.  I mean, she's going to have to figure the warrant thing was already taken care of, since I'm not in jail.  The section 8 appointment isn't until the first of May.  I also have to go to social security to get a paper that says how much a month I make.  I honestly don't remember getting an award letter for this year, since there was no cost of living adjustment.  I could be wrong, and might have lost it, though I've looked everywhere.  I'll go to the social security building some day after work, since i work 2 minutes from there.

I'm also going to go on the state's motor vehicle website to see if the paper's on there that the doctor fills out to get a handicap hangtag.  I had one years ago, but let it expire.  I haven't gotten one, because I figured if a person with a wheelchair showed up, and there was no space, I would feel horrible.  But, with this recent "thing" going on with my leg, and my bad knees anyway, I'm going to go for it.  If I can't find it online, I'll just head to the BMV and get one.             Nothing else much going on.  I didn't take the Prednisone, because I don't want to deal with high blood sugars, and possible moodiness.  I just upped my Motrin.       You all have a good one.

Netta--It was just the visual I was getting from that. It made my day. Poor Pooh...lol..Glad you found your glasses.

Tomorrow I have to get my MRI done, that'll take up most of my afternoon I am sure. But it has to get done. I found out that my HASA worker is willing to approve an apartment if it is a little over a 1,000 bucks. The place I looked at was taken. I have a few more options. I think Theresa found another place for me to check out. But I have to confirm that first.

I still have to take my hair down. But I am going to do it Wednesday, it is overdue. No more microbraids for me. It's too much work taking them down. I'll get it braided some other way. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is enjoying the weather, remember what it was like just a few months ago. ;D

Oh Netta, hee hee, poor Lucy.  I know some female dogs have their periods when they're in heat.  When I lived in Alabama one of the times, my brother's female collie used to have periods when she'd be in heat, and my sister-in-law would have to get doggie pads for her.  I never knew about that until I lived there.  Glad you found your glasses, I would be going crazy without mine.

Queen, girl, maybe you'll be in your own place soon, yay!!!  That's going to be great.  Good luck with the MRI, and please keep us posted as to what it shows.

My leg is hurting a bit less.  Still not taking the steroid.  I went on the state's BMV website and printed out the forms needed to get a handicap hangtag.  Now I have to remember to drop it by my doctor's.  Today I had to go to social security to get a printout of how much I make per month for the section 8 recertification.  I'm not looking forward to that appointment.   I just worry sometimes when things are going alright that something bad's going to happen.  I guess if I had more faith that wouldn't happen, but I always think that I know how things should go.  Anyway, nothing much else happening.  I have a shitload of work to do tomorrow, and I'm not sure how to do most of it.  It involves Access, and I don't know much about that program.  So, hopefully I won't end up in big trouble.  You all have a good one.

Betty-- Would you believe they cancelled my MRI appointment. They needed authorization for something and will reschedule when they get it. I still haven't heard anything about another apartment. Theresa is prolly looking for me again.

I have been taking "zertex" for my sinus/allergies and it makes me sleepy, all day!
be glad when we can post pics again.
Betty- please don't worry about your recert at section 8 and all  the new info  they want such as the police and background check, they can't do anything to you because you are disabled! and your hiv status makes you a priority for housing!
Queen, seems like you're getting close to finding your apartment girl, hang in there!
all is well.

Ugh, you would think I would be closer to finding a place but it's just the opposite. I feel like I am being given the runaround by my HASA worker. First they said they would pay a certain amount, now they're saying something different. I got so frustrated that I broke down crying at an appointment with another different case manager. She was on the phone with HASA for over an hour and a half. Our appointments are only suppose to be for an hour.

Will type more later...I am still upset >:(

Queen, So they don't have their shit together at all.  That makes me angry for you!  I hope they decide what they want to pay, and stick to it.

Netta, they don't do priority housing here.  And this is section 8, not a program through the ASO here.  I'm not eligible for housing through the ASO because I used it already, and maxed out.  I hope nothing happens at the section 8 appointment, or after.  I just don't trust government agencies.

Nothing much happening.  I'm going to try to get a handicap hangtag today.  I got the form off the computer, and my doctor filled out his part.  Yesterday it was in the low 80's, today it's going to be in the 60's, tomorrow in the 50's, with it only being in the 30's at night.  Ah, spring.

Betty--- It all got straightened out. My housing supervisor at the shelter explained it all to me. The program will still pay the majority of the rent. I have to pay 30 percent. And from what my supervisor told me, pretty soon anyone in a shelter with an income will have to start paying 30 percent of their checks to stay there. I have a week left at the shelter but the program that I mentioned, will pay for me to stay in a hotel until I find a place.

Wow Queen, I still wish they would find you a place; I mean, your own place.  I'm so thinking about you, and keeping you in my prayers.

I saw a bone doctor.  It's going to come down to a scooter vs. knee replacement.  I can tell you I'll probably end up picking the scooter.  He said I have avascular necrosis in both knees, worse in the left (where the blood dies out in the bone); 12-15 bone spurs in the left knee and tibia; severe osteoarthritis in my tibia; and my left knee has collapsed.  He said that's what causing the severe pain.  So, we'll see what happens.  Definitely not what I wanted to hear.  He said he could give me Cortisone shots for awhile, but that would only be temporary, and he didn't think they would work very well.  But, I may try that route.  I don't hear much good about knee replacements. :(

Hey girls, I've never joined in on any of these before...not sure what to say...well my baby boy is nearly 5 months old now - next week he's going to have his 3rd blood test, I'm petrified but also think it'll be negative.  He's doing great  ;D

It's hot here in england too so I'm enjoying my maternity leave - another few months before I have to go back to work yet!

Hey Taboo, welcome to our little ladie's family.  Unfortunately, there hasn't been much action lately.  Good news about your baby!

Tendai, it turned out the severe pain I'm having in my lower right leg is from an injury.  I'm not saying the bone doc I saw is trying to steer me wrong-I'm sure he saw everything he said he did on the x-ray.  But, if the knee is really no worse than it was before the injury, then the knee replacement can wait.

The thing is, I live by myself, and don't have anyone who can help with anything I'd need done (laundry, cooking, taking care of kitty).  Well, I have someone who would help take care of kitty, but I don't have enough underwear to last 6 weeks.  I have Prednisone to take for the inflammation resulting from the injury, so I'm going to start that this weekend.  Now, where is everyone??

Hello Girls---

Sorry I have been missing but I had to get my grind on trying to find a place. And I finally found one in a nice neighborhood. A lil bit of drama with my Hasa worker and the broker. The broker went over the workers head and talked to her supervisor. The supervisor said she would approve it, so the paperwork will prolly get started Monday. I am assuming it will. And the shelter has extended my stay until the paperwork is complete. No worries at the moment and I can breathe again.

The weather has been nice, not really too hot with a little breeze. I have to go get my MRI done on Monday finally. I just hate being stuck with an IV, it wouldn't be bad if it was in my arm. But they always like putting them in my hand or wrist. That hurts like hell and I hate having the sensation of having pissed on myself.

I hope you all are doing well. I know it's gotten slow in here since the weather broke. But I remain faithful and look forward to hearing some good stuff. And maybe someone will post pics...*sighs* Once I get situated, I will try to go out and take some....TGIF ladies...

So good to hear from you two ladies.  Queen, that is such great news, I let out a little "yeee" when I read what you posted.  I am so damn happy for you, and it's about time.

Netta, I'm glad to hear from you also.  I was hoping everything was alright.  I sure hope they can get your soon-to-be-ex served soon, what a load of crap.  And I hope the pap smear is negative (fingers and feet crossed).

I've thought about the knee thing long and hard, and as long as my boss guarantees me my job, I'll most likely get the knee replacement in a few months.  My daughter, newest granddaughter, and baby daddy are supposed to be in the beginning to middle of June, and I'm not going to be laid up when they're here.  I talked to my bff, and she assured me that she would be happy to help.  I have a sister that lives a bit away, but not too much, and a couple more friends here that I think will help me until I'm all healed.  I don't want to think about the pain, so I'm not going to.  And I know when the bone doc sees my right knee, he's going to say it needs replaced also, but I'm not going to worry about that for awhile.

Also, I started on the Prednisone this morning.  I'm taking my blood sugar more often, to make sure it doesn't spiral out of control.  The Prednisone is helping with the pain, which makes me think even more that the pain in the lower leg is a result of an injury.  Anyway, that's it for now.  I hope you all have a good one, and please let us know what's going on, Queen and Netta.  I'm thinking about you two.... (and they're good thoughts). ;D

Hi GFs~

Sorry I have been away.  My mother broke her leg a week after my wedding and only got home this past week.  She is wheelchair bound for 6 months and then will need a full knee replacement.

On a much sadder note.....as if it could get any worse than Mom.....yep, Ice and I had to put Cheech down this morning.  Ice found him out in the yard at 5am and he woudn't come back in.  Ice had to go out and carry him in.  Cheech was fine yesterday, but he was 16+ years old.  He was so weak and tired, but we kept him calm and drove to the vet's before the sun came up.

He was a wonderful dog and Ice and I miss him terribly.

Thanks, Betty.  The past two days have been hell.  I printed some pics of Cheech today and put one in a heart-shaped paperweight.  I'll keep that at work with me.  I am smiling a little bit and trying to be OK.  I know that little dog did just what I asked of him -- he stayed until I found a good man.  Cheech and Ice are the best!

Rest In Peace, Cheech

Wow, I am so sorry to hear about Cheech, Cindy. But he had a good full happy life living with you. And he will still be with you....

I have been busy putting in the paperwork for the apartment. I went to the Hasa office but neither my worker or her supervisor was in. So someone else did the paperwork. They give money for furniture so I have to go out and look for some tomorrow to complete the paperwork.

I guess that it is about it with me....Oh, I almost forgot, the MRI turned out normal. So, I now know that my hearing loss is not due to anything neurological. Now I have to go to another appointment in May with Mt. Sinai hospital. I think they are going to do more tests but I have to have those done in order to get my hearing aids. I just hope I haven't loss anymore of my hearing. But for now, no worries.

Keep your chins up ladies....

Queen, that's great news about the apartment and furniture.  New York seems to have some good services there.  I hope things continue to go well!

Betty--- Yeah, they have good programs but they make you jump through hoops to get them. Hasa, the program that is covering my rent had me stressed out today. I turned in my paperwork yesterday but needed a furniture invoice. I went out today and got one but Hasa says it wasn't done right. I called back the furniture store to be told that is how they do their invoices. And to have my Hasa worker call them. Also to find out that the broker dated the lease wrong....grrrrr, you talking about having an attitude. I am about ready to pull my braids out. But at least the place is scheduled to be inspected next week so that tells me I will be approved if the place passes inspection. I have no doubt it will.

I am off to play Warcraft. I need to release some stress.

QUEEN, I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU, FINALLY! THE WEELS ARE TURNING. where did you get your apartment? want to know all the details, what colors are you decorating, what kind of furniture did you buy???? i am so excited for you!

BETTY- Sending some love to you also!

Well not much  going on with me. I got a call from my bankruptcy lawyer today,I had decided to stop paying for the cadillac, since it is not running, and I have wasted so much money on it. I told her this and she said they will dismiss the case and that they can't do anything else to me and the lienholders can pick up the car. FINE with me! nI told her I can't afford it, so she will argue my case in court. I hope they come get it, cause I have no title and it is just taking up space. I thank God I have my neon and it is paid for. I have been doing some art work and trying to get into a local drama group. I am saving money to go to a drama workshop in August in Atlanta with Keisha Smith, the actress that played in Why did I get married 1 and 2. She was the fiesty one lol. Anyway she has an acting school that travels and has 3 day workshops. it cost but, from what I learned cheaper than most . This issomething I have dreamed of !This worshop gurantees you a part of her anual actors  productions for famous directors, like Tyler Perry! So I an saving my money to pay for the class. weather is crazy, hot and cold! take care everyone.

WTF?  It looks like people have lost their avatars.  At least I have.  Ah well.

Queen, I know what you mean about jumping through hoops.  It seems like people who work at government agencies should get more training or something about their jobs and how to do them.  Anyway, I'm so happy that things are at least moving forward for you.  Good luck with the furniture!

Netta, I don't blame you for giving up the Caddy, if it's nickel and diming you.  That art program sounds really cool and definitely something worth trying.  Good for you!

Well, not much going on.  I saw my doctor, and he said he agrees that I should get a knee replacement.  I don't want to do it until the end of June, though.  My daughter, newest granddaughter, and babby daddy may be coming at the beginning of June.  I don't want to be laid up while they're here.  My doctor said to expect pain for at least 3 months.  Whatever, I have pain now.  Anyway, I guess that's it.  I hope everyone's having a good day.

"I saw my doctor, and he said he agrees that I should get a knee replacement. "

There's a guy in our building, learned, retired, who had a knee replacement in the last year. Knowing you've been skeptical of this operation, I was with in the elevator this past week and asked him how his knee is....his reponse was "My knee is great---perhaps better than it EVER was!!"

This guy's in medical research and he's a helluva lot older than you (not likely with the cumulative level of injuries you've sustained). So for him to be so upbeat and glad he did it, I thought I would pass his comments along.

Do you have someone you could rely on to help you or stay with early on post-surgery? Maybe someone with a ground-level place?

No, there's no one I can stay with.  I have people who are offering to like come over and help me out.  Hopefully I'll qualify for physical therapy at home.  The doctor did say I may have to go somewhere for a little bit, but I know that means a nursing home, and I don't want that.  There's a couple steps up to my apartment, but nothing like a huge climb.  I don't know that I want to get that done until the tibial/plantar fasciitis is gone.  I was reading it could take nine months.  The thing is, the tibial fasciiitis is extremely painful, and I just don't want to have to deal with pain from both things at once.  So, I may opt for Cortisone injections for the fasciitis until I get the knee done.

Whew, it is like a ghost town in here. I am expecting to see some tumbleweeds roll by in a few... :D I called my Hasa worker today. She was finally in. After 20 minutes of trying to understand what she was saying, the inspection will be tomorrow at 10. I am so excited you just don't know. I think I am past cloud 9...*lol*

Betty-- Since you don't have anyone to help you out after the surgery, you should put everything you usually need and other things by your bed if that is where you're gonna be. At least the first few days after surgery. Then once you can get mobile, do the same for your the area around your fave chair or couch. Just a thought. Maybe keep a cooler full of ice with you drinks in it.

Netta--- Girl, I know nothing about decorating. I'm not into curtains, I'll probably just buy some blinds. For the livingroom, I want to get a comfy couch, reclining chair and maybe a futon. I also have to get a bed and dressers. I need everything since I am starting over. "Rome wasn't build in a day" and neither will my crib. I plan on growing roots, trust me.

Queen, that's such great news about the inspection!  I'm so, so happy for you.  I hope good things keep coming in for ya.  That's good advice about keeping everything handy.  This surgery won't happen until at least the end of June.  I can tell ya, I'm not looking forward to it, and still struggle with the decision.  It's just such a major thing, to get a new knee, that it kinda scares me.  Hopefully I can get over that.

Hi GFs~

Thanks for the well wishes concerning Cheech.  Man!  I miss him to the end of the Earth!  I have had the worst 11 days of my life with that little guy gone.  My neck has been killing me from the stress and it just doesn't want to hold my head up.  Ugh!  Ice has been super supportive and he has started talking about getting a puppy at some point.  Perhaps in the Fall, I say, after our honeymoon.  We are both big dog lovers and want a Shepherd of some sort.  I still need to breathe and honor Cheech.  He was a lot of work, that doggie, but well worth it! I picked up his ashes and paw print from the vet last Saturday, and they are on the fireplace mantle.  *sigh*  It has been rough, GFs, but I know I'll be OK.  Cheech was such a loyal companion.  Now Ice gets to be spoiled by me, lol.

Queen, congrats on getting the apt plans rolling! Finally!  Betty, I'll let you know how my mother does--she is supposed to get a knee replacement later this year.  Netta, thanks for saying hello.  All of you really make my day when I stop by here.  It really means a lot.

OK, I hear crickets chirping, and my avatar is gone, too.....  *chirp-chirp*

Not really much to say. The apartment did pass inspection so hopefully the landlord will get the check next week my worker said. Either her or the landlord will call me to let me know. I am happy of course...

I am once again pissed off with my brother. He must be in some type of mood because his gf called my sister, ready to break up with him. Now this woman has been by his side throughout all his medical problems. And he wants to act like an ass. And has the nerve to tell her that he could live with one of his sisters.....Saaaaaaaay Whaaaaaaaaat? Not this sister!!!!! I have plenty of reasons why he could never live with me. She's the best thing in his life, trust me, all my brother use to deal with was hoodrats with a few good ones here and there. Anyhow, I am pissed with him because all the time while my son is doing his time, he never wrote him one letter. Even after I told him that my son wanted him to write. Now all of a sudden I get an IM from my brother wanting to know when my son is getting out.....WTF? My brother acts like he never spent a day in prison when that's where had been a good chunk of his life. And when he was locked down, me and my oldest sister were the ones he would write to. Or run our long distance up on jailhouse calls. Hell, that fool still owes me 40 bucks from back when I was in high school, ok. That's my dysfunctional family for ya.

Cindy--- Yeah, I am glad things are starting to come back together for me too. Being homeless is quite a frustrating ordeal.

I was going to write a little more but my page has started doing the jumping thing. Have a good one ladies.

Cin, it's good to hear from you.  I'm sure there are going to be rough days, some more than others.  You know we're here, anytime.  Hang in there.

Queen, sorry your brother is being such a jackass.  But I am sooo glad the apartment passed inspection!  That's great, and I know you can't wait to move.  Did you look at any furniture yet?

Not much going on with me.  The fasciitis is hurting like a mother, and can take up to nine months to heal.  Now, why would I want to get a knee replacement when I have something else wrong that needs to heal first?  Anyway, I go see the bone doc again next Tuesday, and I'm going to see if he will give me a shot of Cortisone to help the fasciitis.  My doctor said that would be alright.  Ok all, take care!

Hi GFs~

I just got my labs back today.  My blood sugars were running high last summer and fall, and I got them to come back down in Jan, even after holiday pigging out.  Now I get my A1C level and its up to 8.3 from 7.3 in January!  (s/b under 7.0)  WTF?  Too many truffles, not enough insulin, lol.

On a better note, my counts are doing great!  My CD4 is up to 748 from 630!! WHERE did that come from?  Woo-hoo!!!!!!  I haven't had a count that high in forever!  Still undetectable and my percentage is up to 44%!  I am psyched, and.....

I am still going to eat my damn chocolates!  Hmph!  LOL

Hey Gfs sorry I have been gone for so long.  Lots of work and staying very busy.

Cindy, sorry about Cheech hang in there.

Queen, glad to hear the apartment is going to finally happen.

BT I hope things get better.  I had plantar fasities in both feet, it took about a year to heal. So I understand the pain you are going through. And on top of that a knee replacement, my heart goes out to you.

Things are still going well with my new boyfriend he is such a great guy.  Thanks Cindy for telling me to get back out there and try again.  Who Hoo!!

Gotta run, my dogs are barking to go out.

Cin, the main reason I haven't gotten my labs done is because of the A1C.  I know it's going to be high.  I didn't do well with my sugars either over the holidays.  Including Easter.  The day after Easter, when all the candy went on sale, I went out and bought a lot.  I still have some left.  I totally understand about still wanting to eat chocolate.  I don't know if I'll ever stop that.  I saw a diabetic dietician a couple years ago, and she said she doesn't keep chocolate in her house anymore (she was diabetic also).  I asked her why and she told me it's because she had a heart attack.  Of course, that hasn't stopped me from eating it.

Missy, good to hear from you!  Yeah, I'd heard of plantar fasciitis, but what I have is tibial fasciitis.  Similar, though, I know.  I don't know if I'm going to have a knee replacement until this heals.  I don't want to have to deal with both kinds of pain at the same time, and, as you know, the fasciitis can be quite painful.  That's great to hear you're still going strong with your fella!

I've been having insomnia the past week.  Today I woke up at 3:30, and wasn't able to get back to sleep.  Yesterday was my inspection with section 8 (funny Queen, ours were at the same time).  I don't know how much my rent is going up yet.  Other than that, just work going on today.  My grandson's birthday is tomorrow, he's going to be 6.  I got him some water toys.                    I think that's it.  You all have a good one.

Ugh, you don't want to talk about bloodwork and doctors. I need to get into a network somewhere. But I am waiting to get settled in my place first. I have been feeling fine though I have been trying to keep up with things on my own. When something does pop up, I usually buy something otc that usually helps. I guess kinda patching myself up til I can see a doctor. I haven't taken insulin in about 2 months. I have been drinking a lot of juices, green tea, and water. And eating a lot of salads. I usually eat light when it gets hot out.

I am going to pick out furniture next week after I know the landlord has gotten the check. For now I have been window shopping. My mind even crossed over to getting another cat after awhile. I need a pet to keep me company. But I still miss Lucifer. I know he is doing fine, I get updates from time to time. So, I was thinking maybe a little dog. I really want an iguana but they are banned here. And me with fish, poor fish doesn't stand a chance. I usually over feed them.....

Queen, will your case manager there help you get into a good doctor network?     I'm sure you still miss Lucifer.  That's nice that you're able to get updates.  Pets are such good companions.  I love my cat.  She looks in my eyes when I talk to her, and most of the time meows back.  Anyway, please take care of yourself while you're not able to see a doctor on a regular basis.  And good luck window shopping for furniture.  That's exciting!

Not much going on except I have a bad cold.  Just taking extra C for it.  Yesterday was my grandson's birthday, and I went to this little get together for him.  There's a lady who came who used to be my sponsor in NA (Narcotics Anonymous).  Now she's drinking again.  She was drunk (or at least feeling pretty good) yesterday at the get together.  She acted very silly, and her breath smelled like booze.  Her health is starting to go downhill, and I wish she would quit the drinking.  She got a DUI a few weeks back, and had to spend some time in jail.  If she didn't drink heavy, or every day, I wouldn't worry about it.  But, she does, and it's starting to show.  She's lost a bunch of weight, she has sores on her lips, and she chain smokes (which I used to do when I was drunk).  And she mentioned she has a spot on one of her lungs.  I still like her, I just wish she would take care of herself.                          Ok, you all have a good one.

Betty--- Yeah, my case manager could do that but when they do it's usually for doctors in Manhattan. I am not going to be in Manhattan so I am trying to find something closer to me. But I can't do none of that til I get settled in my place. Not to worry, I am feeling fine. Next week I have to go to Mt. Sinai to get the testing done for my hearing.

In the meantime, I am getting anxious waiting on the checks to be cut for the apartment and furniture. I am also anxious because my son will be getting out in another 2 weeks. I hope all you mothers out there have a nice Mother's Day.

Mum, you too, you definitely deserve it.

Queen, ah, I didn't realize you would be moving to a different part of the city.  Too bad she can't find doctors for you where you're going.  I hope you're able to get hooked up pretty fast when you get into your new place.  I hope your son'll be alright when he gets out.

Yes, happy mother's day to all the moms.  My two sisters gave me cards, and one of them got me a hanging flower plant for the outside.  Today it's only 44F degrees, and it's supposed to get below freezing tonight, so I'm not going to put it out right away.  I talked to my daughter and she didn't tell me happy mother's day.  Oh well.  She's got some stuff on her mind, and I'm worried she's going to act like a fool within the next few months, and make a huge mistake.  I know I can't make my child do anything she doesn't want to do, but damn.  I wish I could, just a few times.

I went to watch my oldest granddaughter play softball today.  She's the catcher always, for the first 1/2 of the games, and today she also got a hit.  She's a bit hard on herself, though.  But anyway, her team won, so yay!  It was so cold, though, my ass was frozen by the time we left.        I guess that's it for now.  You all have a good one.

I definitely know how you feel. I have that same fear with my son getting out soon. He will be in a halfway house for awhile. He will have to look for a job where there aren't any. My bff has been keeping me updated on things back home. I just hope he doesn't get back into the streets. I have written him so many letters, trying to convince him to do the right thing when he gets home. I just hope he listens to me, not much else I can do but be there for him the best way I can.

Yeah Queen, that's really all we can do is be there for our kids.  My daughter did end up calling today to say happy mother's day, which totally shocked me.  She usually doesn't do things like that.  Anyway, I mostly laid around today.  I'm not feeling well, and am a bit bummed about a few things.  I hope everyone had a good mother's day.

Hi Gfs, Happy Mothers Day to all!
I had a wonderful weekend.  I spent yesterday with my honey, it was awesome. Today we went to breakfast with my son and his friend. It was so nice, I felt so special and loved. My son gave me a beautiful plant, wow!

Talked to my sister today too and wished her a Happy Mothers Day. I know she misses her baby as she is away at college. Will check back later. Take care all and have  a great week everyone.

Hi GFs~

Ice and I have the kids 5/7 - 5/16.  So far so good.  We'll see if the older one really did all of her homework once her grades post online.  She and I have been talking more, so that's good.  The little one is getting a smart mouth from time to time, but I'll let it go until the time is right.

I am missing Cheech like you wouldn't believe.  I feel like he's with me all of the time, so its comforting, but the house is so still without him here.  I saw two license plates on the way home today with dog stuff on them  "LUVLABS"  anf "GLDRET."  Like a message from the Gods for me to get more dogs.  Ice and I want German Sheps, prob two, but not until the fall.  I think about getting new dogs and then I just think that all I want is to have Cheech back.  He and I had a lot of really good times, and the memories keep me going.

I got online at PetLoss.com on Monday night, in their chat room.  At 10pm on Mondays they have a candlelight vigil.  The room moderator asks everyone to stop posting and he puts prayers and nice verses up.  I lit a candle for Cheech and had a good cry.  I needed it, but he was such a GOOD, LOYAL dog -- I couldn't have asked for more from him.

I need to take care of myself now.  There are 35 people at my office and 8 of us are starting the Biggest Loser on Monday.  We get to weigh in and try to eat right, see who is sneaking chocolates (me!), and build morale while we try to lose weight.  The winner gets $350 dollars.  It goes until early August.  OMG what am I going to do?  LOL  I hope this motivates me to workout.  I'll keep you posted!

Love to all of you, and God Bless our pets, here and gone......

Mary, good to see you.  Glad things are going well.

Cin, I'm sure you're going to miss Cheech for a very long time.  That Petloss site sounds great.  I'm glad you have something like that.

Netta, I was wondering how you're doing.  I have neuropathy also, pretty bad.  A few years ago, the doctor took this long pin-like thing and poked my feet with it, and told me to tell him when I felt it.  I couldn't feel most of it.  But, once in awhile, I get sharp, shooting pains in my feet/toes.  I take Neurontin for the neuropathy, which helps a lot.  I've been on it for years.  A lot of people can't take it, because it makes them tired or whatever, but I've been on it so long, it doesn't bother me.  Glad you had a good mother's day.

Not much going on.  Today is my Friday, so I'm glad about that.  But we've been getting so much rain here, I'm sick of it.  Every day for the past week it's been raining, maybe longer.  I don't know if it's ever going to stop (lol).  This is supposed to be an El Nino year, which means it should be warm and dry.  Instead, it's been cold and rainy.  Ah well, maybe that means we're going to have a nice summer.  Alright everyone, take care.

Happy TGIF ladies,

Not much going on. I am still waiting to hear back from my Hasa worker. The checks for the landlord was suppose to be done today. I left her and her supervisor messages and haven't heard back yet. Even the housing director at the shelter called. Nothing.

Another uneventful things was the appointment at the ENT. I get there to find out that they had rescheduled it because they only had one doctor working there. But it was also my fault because I forgot they had my old cell number. So, I have to go back next month.

Hey Ladies-

I've been absentee for a while.  Going through some medical stuff but mostly taking care of my fiance's grandmother (93 years old).  She had a falll and for months we have been traveling back and forth.    I have been reading up on all the forum news over the last month.  I can't believe everything from Queen living in the shelter (I was praying for your safety), Netta getting a divorce for that creep, Cindy's beloved cheech passing and amazing wedding and Betty's job issues and words of wisdom.

Ohl yeah, i'm getting married at the end of July.  It's my first love from high school/ college and broke my heart lol.  He's now a mature and amazing guy.  I wrote about him in the fall.

I haven't seen anything about MUM lately.  Any word on how she's doing?

It's been quiet on this forum lately?

Well, let me say this before I forget. Mum is going through some medical issues with Mini. She has pmed me a few times updating me on things. She does come on she just hasn't been posting. Please keep her and Mini in your prayers. I don't want to post what is going on, I'll leave that up to her to do if she can find the time. If not, I am sure she will explain everything when she gets back.

It's official, I got my apartment. I will move in tomorrow. I found out this morning when I woke up. Then the landlord kept texting me asking me about the checks, if he could pick them up. So, I had to call my Hasa worker and official find out what was going on. Basically, congrats, the check is in the mail, you can move in!!!!!! I am officially out of the shelter as well, spending the night at a friend's tonight. Just to relax and rest up til tomorrow then it is off furniture shopping. Ah, you just don't know how excited I am.

Hey Camille, ltns. And getting married!!!! My a lot has happened with you and your crush. I remember you talking about him. Congrats, of course and am glad you are happy. It's seems we all ended up with good ending though which is good. And I am sure, Netta will have her "groove" back in no time. *lol*.. Just had to throw that in there to make Netta laugh.... ;) Yeah, sometimes the ladies thread has it's dry spells but a handful of us still try to keep it going.

Hi Ladies,

I know I don't post much but I follow this thread all the time. I just have to say, CONGRATS Queen!!! Hip hip hooray! I'm very happy for you. What a relief it must be. Have fun shopping for your furniture.

I have wondered about Mum and Mini too. Poor Mini, having to go through so much and so young.

Congrats to you too Camms! Is it going to be a big, small wedding?

Netta, that would be great if you could certified to test. What a great skill to have!

Not a whole lot going on with me. I saw some family a few weeks ago. It's always a little stressful going on a trip with all the planning and it never goes as smooth when I have to look after other people. The day I was planning to come home, my step-mother left my father and brother and went home. Mind you it is about 7 plus hours away! So, not only did I have to take my grandmother home but I had to deal with getting both of them home! Family, good times, eh! Other than that, the visit as nice. I got to see all my brothers in one place and my 1 year old neice. She is the cutest thing!

Business is still pretty slow but I knew it would take a while to get off the ground. I will have a booth at an event at the end of the month, so hopefully I will get more business. It's just frustrating sometimes.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Queen, I know there was a reason I logged in this morning!  That's totally awesome news.  Wow, congrats and all that!  Have fun furniture shopping.  Yipeeee!

Camms, good to hear from you, and congrats on the upcoming wedding.  Now, visit us more often!

Holly, sorry things were such a bummer with your family.  Unfortunately, we can't pick our famlies.  I hope things get better.

Nothing to report here.  Same shit, different day.  Oh wait, there is something.  I got a Cortisone shot in my right knee yesterday.  So far, it's doing pretty well.  I hope it helps, so I can put off surgery.  I told the doc that I planned on returning to school in the fall, and he wasn't 100% convinced that I would be fully healed in time to do that.  I told him I can't put off school another year.  He said as long as the Cortisone works, I can put off the surgery as long as possible.  He also said next time I'm there, he will have a look at my right knee, since it's fucked as well, and maybe start Cortisone with it also.  Have a good one all!

Hey ladies-

Queen, I'm so glad for you.  That has got to be one of the best feelings in the world.  You waited for a while.  I'm glad you stuck it out in NY.  It's a great city, with awesome transportation.   You definitely needed a change. Can you take pics?  What part of the city is it in?

Betty-  What kind of surgery would they be doing if it came down to surgery?  Meaning orthoscopic?  I'm glad the cortisone is giving you relief.  My doctor says that might be my next option.

Holly- sorry to hear about the drama rama.  What kind of business do you have?

I've been so busy with Grammy in the last two months.  We were spending two months at her adult living  home after she got out of rehab.  I 've been trying to start my graphic design business with my fiance but that was put on hold.  Between that I 've been getting a gazillion tests  for what turned out to be two herniated discs (in the upper back).  My arms and legs became extremely tired.  I didn't lose strength it was like my legs felt tired after walking up a flight of stairs.  When I woke up it felt like my arms got run over by a truck.  It was scary.  It started triggering panic attacks.

Finally, I started physical therapy.  What a NIGHTMare!  It's $50 a pop first off.  Second the waiting room was about the size of 3 of my bathrooms.  The fronkdesk's daughter comes in and they get in a huge argument about where she was gonna drive with her new license.  Finally I get called in and the PT room is about the size of 10 of my bathrooms with 5 people occupying the space.  There was one women taking care of all of these folks.  Then Stevie Nicks came on the radio and the physical therapist  jumped in on "stand back".  It was too much. Back to finding a new pt in my network.

Anyway, hope you all have a great day.

Hey Ladies---

Today is clean up day at the new apartment. I really couldn't do it because of the weather. So, that is my plan for today. Gonna take my ipod, throw the headsets on and just clean my ass off. It feels good being out of the shelter, no doubt but I am still on shelter time. I am still jumping up ready to run out the door thinking I am going to be late.

Camms- Yeah, the change is good despite what I have just been through. I like the transportation too. The subways can take you everywhere and at times provides entertainment along the way. I also like the diversity here. The PT sounds like it was a nightmare.

Camms, the doctor wants to do a total knee replacement.  I don't look forward to that.  Anyway, I hope you're able to get your PT worked out.  The one you went to sounds horrible.  And I hope your back gets some relief.  A sore back is no fun.

Queen, I know you're going to have that apartment looking spiffy in no time.  I'm so happy for you.

My daughter called me yesterday to tell me she and the baby's father (my newest granddaughter whom I haven't seen in person yet) are breaking up.  She also told me he took the baby, and that his mother will probably hire a lawyer.  She said that where she lives is a "mom" state, but of course the guy has dirt on her (what happened with the two grandkids here), and could really make her look bad.  I hope something can be worked out.  They were supposed to make a trip here next month, but now I don't know if that's going to happen.  For sure I know the baby's father isn't coming.  Whether or not I'll be able to meet my newest granddaughter is unknown right now.  My daughter was in tears, saying how she wanted the baby to have a good life etc.  I told her there are kids that don't live with both parents that do fine.  I feel extremely helpless, and wish I had thousands of dollars to get her a good lawyer.  The baby's father's mother has money, which is how they would afford a lawyer.  I hope cool heads can prevail, but know how custody things can go.  It breaks my heart, and of course I'm speculating about every bad thing that can happen.  Please keep my daughter and newest grandbaby in your thoughts, and if you pray, in your prayers.

Damn Betty, I know exactly how you and your daughter feels. I have been in your daughter's shoes as far as the custody thing goes. But your daughter should still be able to get some type of legal representation through legal aid. Or does she feel the baby can have a better life with the father? And if she was to decide that she should still be able to have visitation rights. It is indeed a fucked up situation for sure.

And at the moment, I am feeling what you are cause my friend is going through the same thing with his daughter. But that is his business so I am not going to air that here. I just know that it is hurting him so bad. I try to say things to encourage him and keep him from being depressed.

Yeah, I went to the apartment yesterday and gave it a thorough cleaning. There is some furniture still there from the last tenant that I am waiting for it to get moved. I am still waiting to hear from the furniture store so I can get my bed in there atleast. Until then I will go shopping for appliances. I am trying to figure out some place I can go to get lights or something to alert me when someone is at the door. The doorbell works but I can't hear it. For now, folks have to text me to let me know they are at the door. If anyone knows, please jump in and let me know.

TGIF everyone. Have a good weekend

Hey Queen, I'm so glad that things are finally going in the right direction for you! I know I haven't said much over the months, but I have been reading and pulling for you. You've been very much in my thoughts.

I don't know about in NYC, but here they have organisations such as "Help the Aged". They will supply people with hearing issues with low-cost quality of life items, such as the light connected to your doorbell - and they can do ones for phones as well, but I think that's only landlines, not mobiles. You can also get gizmos for smoke alarms.

Even though the organisation is called Help the Aged, you don't have to be elderly to access their services when it comes to being hearing impaired. I know about this particular outfit because my daughter's elderly grandmother has the lights you speak of for her door.

Your case worker may be able to point you in the right direction. Looking in the Yellow Pages might yield some results and so may Google. I did a search for you, concentrating on NYC, and came up with this charity:

http://www.chchearing.org/hearing-technology/assistive-devices

and this other site - I think they're more retail than charity, but you may find you can afford them.  I'm not sure. The charity one would be sure to know if there are assistance programs to help people without a lot of money afford the products they offer.

http://www.independentliving.com/default.asp?division=sb

I hope you can find something between them to help.

[edit] I found two sites that have quite a few links to other sites that you may find useful.

http://www.nysilc.org/linkto.htm

http://www.disabilityresources.org/NEW-YORK.html

Good luck, hun! [/edit]

Betty, that's heartbreaking about your daughter and granddaughter. I hope things turn out well for all concerned - you included. I really hope they can still come to visit - I know how much you've been looking forward to that.

Hi Ladies,

Queen, I really hope that you can find what you need in one of the links Ann provided. I remember watching Home Makeover and they were building a home for a deaf couple. The fire alarms not only rang out but they flashed and I think they even put some sort of device on their mattress to shake them awake. Something like that, but I thought it was pretty cool. Good luck with the shopping.

Betty, I'm so sorry that you are having to go through all this. I don't know your situation but I do know what it is like to feel helpless and the only thing you can do sometimes, is watch it happen. Shitty situation but I hope something works out.

Camms, ya, I would be running for the hills too with a pt like that, lol. I hope you find a good replacement and start feeling better. Maybe some time soon, you can start your business again? As for my business, I sell eartht  friendly products from home. I also have a website. You wouldn't believe what we are exposed to everyday, just through personal care products. It has been one disturbing discovery after another. I could go on and on, but I do feel good that I am learning the truth and offering truely good products. Have a good one ladies.

Hey Ladies---

Ann---Yeah, you have been quiet but I know you were going through your own issues. Thanks for the links, I will bookmark them and check them out later. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. It's amazing how many people were rooting for me in my blog. I had a reader email Poz asking about me. I was totally blown away.

I also need to thank the rest of you ladies for being there for me. Your support is part of what got me through believe me. Those were some hard and depressing 7 months. But it did show me just how strong I really am. And it has once again made me appreciate the simple things life has to offer especially living in a fast paced city like NY. So......(group hugs and smooches)....

Later on today, I will be out shopping for appliances and going to get my bed. I hope I don't have to wait til next week to get it. I have to wait atleast 10 days on cable. Time Warner has to send a technician out because they don't have a second floor for my address. Something sounds suspect there, like one of my neighbors might have an illegal hookup. And I still have to call Verizon for my internet.
I was trying to make a trip back home on June 1st but with how things are going, I am going to have to postpone it.

Good afternoon-

Holly sounds interesting.  I'm not a tree hugger, but I'm eco conscious ( recycling) and try to buy healthy products.  I clean with Mrs. Meyers (tilex if its really bad :( )
I try to eat organic when the prices aren't to outrageous.  I lived in a house that had a lot of mold which really was awful for my allergies so I bought a hepa filters.  Do you ever listen to Dr. Weil?

Betty-  Sorry to hear you have so much going on.  I don't know the whole situation but I'll be praying for you and your daughter.  My dad had a hip replaced and it changed the  quality of his life.  I know it's not something to look forward to but think of the end result.

Queen-  It's nice to hear the new apartment jazz.  Are you officially in now?  Do you have someone to help remove the old stuff?

Well, spent the day with Grammy showing her pictures on the pc of our vacation, my first vacation in 25 years lol.  She's so cute.  She doesn't understand how a little square that comes out of the camera can hold images...and then be able to watch them on the computer.  Tonight I have dinner with my future fatherinlaw and his wife at a swanky restaurant.  It will be nice to get out for a little while.

Hope you ladies have a nice Saturday night.

Evening all, as another weekend comes to an end (shit).

Queen, the situation with my daughter is complicated.  There are things going against her and against the baby's father, so I told her to really try to work out something outside of court with him.  But he has a bad temper, which doesn't help things.  I guess a couple nights ago, they got into it.  My daughter was holding the baby, and he was telling one of their friends to take the baby so he could "drop the bitch."  That, of course, makes me want to really kick the shit out of him, so he knows how it feels.  He didn't hit her, but it scared her.  Anyway, how's the furniture shopping going?  Are you officially "in"?  I think that's so exciting.  And of course we're pulling for you, and have been.  I've said many a prayer for you, girl, was worried for awhile, and so relieved with the news of you getting your own place.  I know it's bigger news for you, but we can all share in your happiness. :-*

Ann, thanks for the good thoughts.

Holly, I hate not being able to do anything, and living 1/2 way across the country.  Totally sucks.

Camms, good luck with the dinner, and have fun.  I suppose the knee replacement would help, but the doctor can't guarantee I would totally recover by the time school starts.  So, if the Cortisone works for awhile, I think that's the way I'm going to go.

Well, I already posted a bit about my daughter's situation.  She got a couple tatts, one on each arm; one of them says "lost," the other one "found."  She said she feels somewhere in between.  All I can do is to be an ear, and be supportive.  I wish she was here.  I just have this feeling that the trip isn't going to happen, or if it does, the baby won't be with her.  I feel kind of sad right now, so I guess that's it.  Damn it.

Hey Peeps---

The apartment stuff is coming along. I bought my bedroom furniture and tv for the livingroom. I was going to go out and get some more things but it started raining. Tomorrow the weather is suppose to be better. I have stayed a few nights there sleeping on the floor. I am gonna stay at my friend's til Thursday when my furniture comes.

I am also excited, my son gets out today. I have been checking my email to see if my sister sent me anything. I am hoping it will be the first place he goes. I already sent her an email telling him to text me. I am happy he is out, I just hope he does the right thing. I definitely know how you are feeling, Betty.

Camms, I hope the dinner with the in-laws turns out good for you. You never met them before? I was wondering since you use to date your fiance back in the day, right? Anyhoo, I am sure everything will go just fine.

Hey Girls-

Today is supposed to be sunny and warm so it will be perfect ...perfect for  apartment stuff wink wink.    No more sleeping on the floor Queen.  Though, that's great that your friend had a place for you to stay instead of the shelter.

Dinner was really great.  It wasn't the first time meeting his dad.  We've gone out to dinner a few times with them.  When we were younger, I meant him once.  G was not close to dad (parents divorced) so we were always at his moms and step dads.

It's G's  birthday today so it's off to the market.  I'm going to attempt to make a double layer cake.  I'm a better baker than cook so I think I can pull this off.

On a completely different note, I was going through some of my earlier posts from about 2 years.  I just couldn't believe it.  I can't believe some of the drama in my life.   Or the darker periods that seemed liked they lasted forever. I'm so glad to have visual reminders of how far I've come and came out of some tough times.

Anyway, here's to bright futures for everyone.  Have a great day!

Camms

Good Evening All---

I know it is rare for me to post in the evening but I finally went out and got the things I needed. I did look at some livingroom furniture. I didn't see anything I liked so I am going to hold off on that. Also, the carpet in the livingroom needs to be shampooed before I put anything in there.

The weather today was in the mid 80's but it felt like the 90's. It sapped all the energy out of me. All I wanted to drink was water. I think I may have dehydrated myself drinking ice tea. I am hooked on Lipton Green Tea and Snapple Lemon Tea. Once I got to my place all I could do was just lay on the floor for about 20 minutes til I cooled off.

LOL@Camms.....Girl, that floor was killing my back and I couldn't get any real sleep. I can't wait to get my bed. I already bought fluffy pillows and stuff for it. I am glad dinner went well.

Hi Ladies!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

BT- Sorry to hear about what your daughter and grand-daughter are going thru.  I hope she is right and it is a mother state.  No matter if his family has money or not, she should get a fair chance.  Hopefully, she has documentation on what has happened in the past.

Queen- I am so happy to hear that you are in your new place and really, really happy to hear about your son being out.  That is such good news!!

Cin- So sorry to hear about Cheech.  You were very lucky to have each other.

Camille- Hope the cake went well.  Sounds like things are going great for you, I am very happy for you.  How is your doggy doing?

Holly- Good luck with your business, hopefully when the economy picks up so will your orders.

I have been crazy busy.  Our P.T.O. is having a carnival next Friday so I have been doing a lot of running for that.
 My oldest started basketball.
We finally finished the boys room and got them in it.
I am hoping that I am going to get hired by my kids school part time as a data clerk.  The person they hired can't even type and hardly knows how to turn on the computer.
There are only a couple of weeks before the kids get out of school, this year just flew by.
I am hoping to to be able to keep the little one back a year because they have all been struggling.
My oldest got accepted in a really good middle school around here.  I feel extremely lucky. I hadn't heard anything good about the school he would have had to go into if he didn't.  The best part is it is 6th thu 12th so he can stay with the same kids till he graduates.
I think that is about it, except that I just heard the other night that shitbag got another girl pregnant.  I know her mother was told about his being poz and having hep c but I guess she is hitting the bottle and the pipe and didn't bother telling the daughter.

I hope everyone is staying cool. It is way to hot for me right now, I can't imagine how this summer is going to be.

Have a good night!!
Snow

Queen, I hope you have fun getting the stuff for your apartment.  It must be exciting!  I hope you're able to get everything you want.  I hope your son does the right thing also, and I know exactly how you feel about that.  It can zap out a lot of energy, worrying about our kids.

Camms, how'd the cake come out?  That's cool that you went back over your old posts, and could see how things really do seem to pass.  I don't remember that when they're happening, then when they're over, sometimes I forget about them.  Good idea.

Snow, damn girl, good to hear from you!  Time did go by fast this past year, didn't it?  I so hope you get that job!  Please keep us updated.

It's been hot here also.  Monday it was 86, yesterday 84.  But the humidity is so high, it feels like it's almost 100.  I don't know if that means the summer will be sizzling or not; the weather around here is so unpredictable, that it can be hot one minute, and cool the next.

On another note, where I live, in Indiana, they have a state-wide "quit line," (for tobacco).  And I heard they give away two weeks worth of nicotine patches, or gum or lozenges.  I like nicotine patches myself.  That's the way I quit for like 7 months before.  Anyway, I called them, and now have the nicotine patches sitting on my kitchen table.  I did pick a quit date of 05/28, but realized it's going to be pretty hard to quit on a holiday weekend (not like I have big plans or anything).  So, I'm going to change the date to 06/01.  Even though I only smoke 8 cigarettes a day at the most, I have the nagging cough again, and to tell the truth, cigarettes are getting too expensive.  I smoke Basics, so it's like it's kind of an off brand, and they cost $6.07/pack.  I realize the bigger cities, like Chicago, are more expensive, but I'm getting tired of spending my money on them.  So, I'm going to give it another go.  It seems like I've quit so many times before, that I should have gotten it by now.  So, keep your fingers crossed that it will work.  I'm not judgemental of anyone else who smokes, so I'm not going to be one of those pesky "reformed" smokers, who goes around expecting everyone else to quit.  Those people always made me want to kick their asses, and I don't want to bother anyone else like that.        Alright, I think that's it for now.  I haven't talked to my daughter in a couple days, and hope everything's going alright.  You all have a good one.

Good morning all-

Bt-  Don't get discouraged.  You'll get there.  You are a tough woman and I have no doubt you can quit.  I totally relate to angst with judgmental folks.  I'm an ex smoker.  I smoked a pack a day from age 24 to 34.  When I drank it would be even more.  I know how hard it is to quit...really hard.   I can't imagine an ex smoker not feeling the compassion.  I go nuts over judgemental people in general.  When you were looking for a job and ran into a problem because of your tats & past, I was seething.  Anyway, I'll step off the box now.

Snow-  Jada is doing great.  She loves life and is so sweet.  I'm taking her to one of my clients today.  She lives on a resevoir.  The woman owns a mastiff that's Jada's buddy.  The two really live it up in the woods and then go swimming.  Sometimes she'll chase deer which is amazing for a dane.  She's very fast and agile.  You sound like things are going well and keeping you busy.  Congrats on your son getting into the exceptional middle school.

Queen-  It's supposed to get to 90 to today so drink lots of water.  Oh yeah, I slept on the floor about a year ago and my hips, back shoulder felt like I got hit by a truck.  There's no way I could stand it with two herniated discs.  My arm would be numb and my neck would feel like a sore, tight knot.

Anyway, have to run before it gets to hot.

hugs,

Camms

Bt- I am a smoker too!  And I really want to quit too!  I had quit recently but it was tough.  First I tried hypnotherapy and it worked for about a week and a half, still better than I could do all on my own.  Then I stumbled across a video on youtube of a woman dying of lung cancer and that scared the daylights outta me.  I was doing really well and then my husband had a fainting episode...scariest thing in my life!  I thought he had a heart attack in the bathroom and me and the kids were freaking out.  I almost called 911 but he came too before I could find my phone, I must have ran past my phone 5 times and didn't see the bright green thing sitting there.  After that I started smoking again, it had been a few months without them.  Then my life just snowballed after that....pregnancy, tested poz, miscarried, new doctors....all within a weeks time.  I am smoking a pack a day now  :o

I have allergic reactions to the patch so I can't use them.  The gum tastes like butt to me so that's out.  My poor lungs are crying out for mercy and still I puff away on these little white demons.  I wish you the best of luck and maybe I'll join you and kick them myself.  :)

To everyone else- I'm new to the forum and I'm going to try not to be a sporatic poster.  I'm still trying to get to know who everyone is so I don't say something dumb.  My story is in the I Just Tested Poz section.

A little info on me....34 and married since '99.  I have a son from a previous marriage and two daughters from this one.  I stay home with my girls and homeschool them.  I don't have many local friends but I have the most fabulous online friends.  I love to bake and get baked.  :D  Getting baked and then baking is fun too!

Hey Kat-

Welcome to the forum.  I read your story...wow.  I 'm so glad  to hear that everything has worked out for you, regarding your family.

Not much going on today.  I had Pt yesterday and it worked out much better.  I felt pretty good after wards.  I slept on the couch last night because it was so darn hot.  We haven't put the units in the windows yet.  It was about 94 degrees here (nj) yesterday. Being stuck between my great dane and G on the bed was not a good setup.  This morning my left arm is giving me some trouble.  It's really stiff and feels an alien arm.  The p therapist gave me strengthening exercises which I will start this morning.

Hope you all have a great day.

Kat, welcome to our ladie's family.  The ladies here are a great bunch, which you'll find out as you continue to post.  Quitting smoking is hard, damn hard.  Harder than anything I've quit before.  But, I have the nagging cough, and it costs too much money, so I've got my motivation.  I don't preach to anything about quitting, or try to make people feel guilty.  That's just not good.  Anyway, good to have you with us!

Camms, geez, get those air conditioners in the windows!  94 is way too hot for no air.  When I think back on my childhood, we never, ever had air.  I don't know how I survived without melting, but I do remember laying in front of fans.  One summer, when it was really humid, I got the crabs.  I remember laying in bed, and itching, and thinking it was because of the heat/humidity.  Boy, did I get a surprise!

It's pretty nice here right now, at 75.  Earlier it was in the 80's, and humid.  Other than that, I'm off work until Tuesday.  And I have nothing planned.  Monday I'm going to try to get to my granddaughter's softball game.  Saturday the Salvation Army is having dollar days, so I'm going to try to check that out also.  I had a craving for a Whopper earlier, but restrained myself.         I hope you all have a good Thursday night, and Friday!

Morning Ladies-

BT-  ha ha crabs, those nasty creatures.  Funny how they look like real crabs.  It was a case of bronchitis that actually made me quit.  I have asthma and my old house really brought it out.  So I was using my rescue every 5 minutes.  I tried to quit a thousand times before but this time it was as though I was being forced to quit.

Not much happening today.  I have invites that need to be finished.  I have client work this afternoon.  This morning I'm heading over to a clients (I'll bring Jada to play with her Mastiff).  to pick up some work then meet a  friend for lunch. Its one of my favorite places.  Its right on water falls and is very cheap.

It's cooled down quite a bit.  We had some major storms pass through last night so its quite enjoyable..

Hope you have a great friday.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

As the wedding is gearing up we're trying to get out the invites and work on the wedding favors.  It's going to be a small garden wedding so I decided to make small gift boxes with a garden theme.  I going to decoupage the boxes with different garden items like dragonflies and bees.  I haven't done it since I was a kid but I'm gonna give it a shot tonight.  It it  looks like crap then I'll have to come up with something else.

So where is everybody?  How's the apartment Queen?  Cindy, what's happening Mrs. Ice?  Betty, Snow and any other ladies how are you on this cloudy, but cheery day.

Not much more than that.  We're making burgers on the hibachi for dinner.  Considering I'm starving now I might have to move these plans to the lunch menu.

Hope you all have a fantastic Saturday.

Hugs,

Camms

Hey all,

Camms sounds like you're going to be very busy with your plans.  Those burgers sound good!

Today the Salvation Army was having dollar day.  All clothing was $1.  I found some cute jeans-Levi's and Harley Davidson, and a few tops.  Goodwill was having 50% off day, so I looked for something for the new grandbaby.  I found some jeans that are too big for her now, but she'll fit into them eventually. I had to get them because they're Baby Phat.  They are so cute.  I also went to Burger King. I got a jr whopper, onion rings and a large Diet Coke.  When I got home, I was trying to unlock the door, and the soda slipped out of my hands and went all over the porch.  I think the neighbors down the block could hear me cussing.  Other than that, it's sunny and hot, at 86, with plenty of humidity.  Tomorrow I'm supposed to go to my sister's for dinner.  Monday a friend of mine is planning a cookout, but it's supposed to rain.  I guess if it does, we'll probably move it indoors.  He's a great host(ess) (my best gay friend), so I expect good eats.  I hope everyone's doing well! Have a good one.

Hi GFs~

Welcome back Camms and welcome to Kat!  Camms, congrats on the upcoming marriage!  Woo-hoo!!!

I hope Mum and Mini are OK, I've been thinking about them.  I think its Wendy's birthday right about now but she hasn't been on here in forever.  She was funny in these forums, I hope she is doing well, too.

BT~  Glad the cortisone helped some.  My mother is just starting PT but not on the injured leg.  I guess she'll get a full knee repl in the fall perhaps.

Does anyone know about applying for disability?  Mom doesn't qualify for SSI or SSDI, so I'm thinking the next step is Medicare?  She's not 65 yet, but the doc has declared her disabled for at least a year or more.  I have been trying to help my father with phone calls, but we keep going in circles.  ???  Medicare's recording says to start with SS?  Do you need a "formal" denial from SS first, or......?

Queen~  Congrats on the apt!  At last!  I felt so bad when things turned upside down for you, but I knew you would keep on trying!  I am thrilled for you!

Hello to Netta and Snow and all of my other GFs here, sorry its been so long.

I still feel like I've been kicked in the stomach most mornings when I wake up.  I wake up and realize Cheech isn't here.  I couldn't have asked for more from that little guy, and thanks to Ice, we have tons of videos of Cheech during his retirement, lol.  It just hurts having him gone so fast.  One night he's fine, the next morning within three hours, he's gone.  It was very quick, but he didn't suffer.  That dog never suffered.  Sigh.

OK, so 8 of us at work weighed in on 5/17 for the Biggest Loser.  On 5/24, I was the winner of Week #1 with 2.75% lost.  The next closest was 1.70%, so I did really good.  We weigh in again tomorrow, 6/1.  I worked out 2x already today, doing weight training, and then going on the treadmill for 20mins.  You wouldn't believe how much my eating habits have changed.  I have virtually cut out Diet Coke and I don't crave my sweets as much.  I eat rabbit food all of the time and keep a food diary.  I count carbs, calories, fat protein and fiber at every meal.  I am kicking some serious ass over here!

Ice is very supportive and is doing this along with me.  We have walked 3 miles in an hour 2x already!

I am building muscle but I can't lose this gut.  The contest goes until early August.  The best thing is, I used to take about 40-50 units of Humalog insulin a day and now I take about 3-10 units a day.  The exercise has raised my metabolism so much that I hardly need any insulin on the days I work out.  Its scary, but exciting.  My A1C was a horrible 8.3 at the end of April.  I may go again in 2 weeks for a recheck on the labs before I see my diabetic doc, just to show him the difference.

This is all very hard work and takes a lot of willpower, but I do fit into my capris that I couldn't zip up 2 weeks ago!  Yay for progress!

Love and miss all of you bunches!

~ Cindy  :)

Wow, Cindy, that's an amazing change in your insulin intake. Good for you! I need to exercise more (my diet is ok) but I'm just too damn lazy, so kudos to you!

Hey Ladies---

I hope everyone is doing fine. It's so good to hear from you Cindy. I need to get off my ass and tone up. I have changed my diet a lot too. And I have stopped drinking Pepsi. Just doiing that alone took a lil weight off of me. But I still need to go to the gym.

Netta, girl, no he didn't pull a fast one. Just a sign letting you know his ass is getting high again. That's how I see it. I hope you can get your divorce.

Kat--welcome to the forums. It's a great bunch of ladies here.

I am loving my apartment. And I am really exhaling now. I am leaving though tomorrow to go back home so I can see my son. He has been calling me since he got out. And from talking to him, I think he has been listening to me. I wired him some money so he could buy some clothes. He has already been out on job interviews. I am excited about seeing him, my sister, and my bff. But I will still be checking in here.

Well, I have to run. I still have last minute things to do.

modified to add: Sheesh, I had to modify just to do that damn compatibility view.  But also to say that someone needs to start a new thread so Goddess Ann can lock this one. And I am assuming that airports have wi-fi? I haven't been on a plane in ages so I really am clueless. And a little nervous, NY airports have been on red alert since catching that terrorist at JFK.
