HIV Treatment in Singapore for Foreigner

Hi All,

can anybody tell me what is the cheapest hospital in Singapore for foreigner to get HIV treatment?

Be aware that you will be reported and in the past (I don"t know currently), foreigners with HIV were deported.   I do know that Singapore no longer prohibits those with HIV from visiting as tourists..... but it was up until a few years ago.

So before you get tested, find out from other sources.  Many Singaporeans come to Bangkok for testing and treatment as HIV+ is common and not medically or politically stigmatized. 

The most commom way to get that treatment is to go to a private hospital and get a script and buy the medication at the Thai Red Cross (cheaper) or obtain the medicine from the private hospital.   (I get mine at Pattaya Memorial).

The records were leaked by a foreigner in just such a situation, American Mikhy Farrera Brochez, who was deported after serving jail time for drug-related crimes and fraud, including hiding his HIV status. He was able to access the records with help from his boyfriend, a Singaporean doctor.
Singapore is one of only a handful of developed nations that still have laws restricting the long-term stay of foreign nationals with HIV – laws that have been deemed a human rights violation by the United Nations.

One caveat to the above posts which are a few years old... I have read (on this forum - But not confirmed) reports that The Red Cross is requiring additional documentation such as a recent Viral Load /CD 4 or proof of HIV status test result before they will dispense meds... My guess is that they are getting people in who are not HIV but buy a 6 month supply of drug to sell in their home country for a HUGE profit
