A wonderful, happy and healthy New Year to a great lady and her big family, on two legs and four. And to all my other friends here at Aidsmeds, where it is still Dec. 30th, a happy and safe one when it comes and watch out for those you love and cherish, and all you Fockers as well. ;)

I have this monstrosity to look forward to all fucking day tomorrow.  It's the most vile experience of the year, and it goes on, and on, and on from about 8 AM until 8 PM right in front of my apartment.  This video is shot a few blocks below where I live.  An endless stream of bad costumes and weird saxophone bands... and Irish people.

Wine in general is vile. Totally wasted on me. The good stuff tastes exactly the same as chateau shithouse.

No palate for it at all. As far as I can tell vino comes in two flavours - red and white. On special occasions you can drink the fizzy stuff.

I can't do wine -- allergic to the sulfites in it - instant headache even from one sip.

I can't do wine -- allergic to the sulfites in it - instant headache even from one sip.

Then join me in the cheap seats, darling. We can drink everclear straight from the bottle together. :)

I used to love the grain punch we used to drink in high school --- one bottle could get 9 people drunk - and was always good for catching at least one person's face on fire --- better than fireworks on New Year's Eve....  I should start hearing gunshots from my apartment balcony any minute now....

Its a quarter to 7 in the evening. I am starting with a nice cabernet pinotage from Sebeka vintners in South Africa.

It was a gift.

I think the best wine I have tasted was one called Sangre de Toro from Chile. YUM.

Happy New Year, and Goddess bless us, every one.

HUGS,

Mark

Not anymore, its 506 and it was a really super soiree entre amis suisses. I am too touched that my oldest friends invited me like in the old days. Its been 3 years I thought I was forgetten after my "divorece" with my suisse ex.  We had risotto and gratin poisson and my cold cucumber salad (mine) and leo's home cured salmon with 100 bottles of champagne.  there was  a beautiful Bulgarian woman in a silver lamé dress and a handsome dark eyed young lawyer no one knew but he had good pot.  And children. And Nicolas presented his new house, extravagantly contemporary.  He didn't know how to work his sleek oven. He built a dubwaier into the house. Imagine that?  We couldn't find his wive's napkins. The dinner table for 8 was set for 16.  I was so proud of my friends for their messy adult lives filled with angoisse and joy.

Charming.   Congrats I guess but this is not cute, funny, or empathetic for many poz who have GI issues. IMHO, its a shame to see these once informative forums evolve into witless chats that are often offensive.

Happy new year to everyone tho!

Well clutch the pearls, Bobby -- that's why we're in the Off Topic section, in a senseless celebratory thread about New Years Eve.  I can't tell if you've drank too much or need to drink more tonight.

images of men in a ballerina pose - seems that what South Florida is full of at times

You need to share, Philistine.  These gals here are going to be puzzled by your cryptic comment.

And don't lie, ya know that one of yer new year rezzies is to master that "ballerina by the wall, waiting to be plugged" position. So 'Black Swan' of you ;)

That's why I said "IMHO".  My opinion is as relevant as any of the "forum celebrities" here who take over threads, ridicule those with alternate opinions, shut down discussions, and otherwise act childlike.  Class and respect for others will win out at some point, I hope.  But perhaps not here just yet.  LoL.   Cheers and happy 2011!

Oh dear. You're one of those.

You are more than entitled to express your opinion (a more humble one I'm yet to encounter) and others are equally free to respond to it.

See how it works? Freedom of expression doesn't mean freedom from response.

Here's hoping you don't die on the toilet in 2011! :)

Happy New Year Everyone!

Since my partner died and I moved back home, my goal this year has been to put myself "out there". I've been volunteering at my ASO a lot, meeting up with old classmates (30 yr class reunion), catching up with family (cousins and aunts I haven't seen in 20 yrs), and taking every opportunity to "meet new people". I'm not neccesarily loving for another lover (those keeping dying on me) but I'm looking to make new friends (especially since I left all my old ones behind in Ohio). so tonight for the first new years eve since 1994 (the last one Randy was alive) I went out to a party tonight. In all these intervening years I've either been too sicked or too happily married to care about going out.

And tonight I had a wonderful time. I got drunk. I laughed till my face hurt. I met the most interesting group of people - the gay couple hosting, their straight couple friends from Hawaii, 4 of my new friends from the clinic, a wonderfully funny Brit chick, another straight couple whose husband got quieter as she got drunker, and about 5 hot ass guys. I drank more. We played bingo and win-lose-draw. I blew a horn at midnight. I sucked face with 3 of the hotties, fucked one in the guest bedroom, and got the phone number to do another one tomorrow. I ate all sorts of food and shoved a whole cupcake into my mouth. And I had two glass of champagne after midnight. damn! I can't believe I've been missing out on such fun all these years.

but I couldn't forget about all my peeps back here at AM. I hope you all had a great start to 2011 and I hope only good things come from way this year. Love and hugs to you all  :-*

Well it's been quite a day...reading all these posts I couldn't help but just wash down another while wondering if Jan was swigging Bailey's when she posted at 2:20am NZ local time...we went to a party and didn't make it to the scheduled one, but had a lovely time and saw lots of friends. Tonight is our 3rd anniversary so he got a special present at 1:30am as he was laying down and I'm still tasting the fireworks. And the locals of the county are still shooting fireworks of the visual kind since it's legal out here in the sticks.

Besides all that, we both left work early, not telling the other, and bought lots of wine and flowers for each other. If we'd both picked up toilet paper and toothpaste I'd be worried, but chalk this one up to trying to surprise each other and we know what we'd like to get.

Haapy new year and lots of love to all of you! Don't forget to buy the AMG cookbook! My stepmom wants 5 copies for gifts!

Would you believe I had one Bailey's all night ..and that was when I got home and posted at 2.30am, Hubby had a gig in a littlel rural Town and Country club, about an hour and a half's drive from us..they had everything except Baily's..so I waited until I got home ..I made it a large one and believe me it was worth the wait.. ;)

Happy Anniversary to you both.

We survived New years Eve, and we didn't even get a hangover !! And we both feel pretty peppy today, so, we're going to do about  20 mile bike ride today.  Temps are supposed to be around 76 with a light breeze...
