Overlooked in the Christmas hubbub, was the sad story of this man's death from "HIV-related complications".
http://www.queerty.com/gay-porn-star-josh-weston-dead-at-39-20121219/
The few brief articles I read mention he was working on a memoir called "Sleeping My Way to the Bottom". Sounds like it might have been an interesting read.

I just changed the thread title again.
Cause I scratched around a bit more and one poster in one of the comments in one of the articles, said its never even been confirmed that Weston died of "HIV-related complications". The term all the articles use.
The poster said everyone assumes its that because Weston was HIV+, (and long struggling with drugs and depression).
Anyhow, a sad story. Everyone says what a kind guy he was.

A friend of mine in "the industry" who knew Josh personally is of the opinion that the notion that he died of HIV or AIDs or "AIDs Related Complications" is pure bullshit.
Once upon a time, we used to say that someone died of the flu, or cancer, because it was uncomfortable for polite company to talk about dying from HIV/AIDs.
Today, dying from AIDs complications, while tragically sad, enables one to be mourned in sorrow within the community. So, now when people actually die from crystal meth addictions, or roid overdoses that swell and stop the heart, we say "AIDs related complications."
The danger here, of course, being that we are ascribing deaths and tragedy to HIV, which actually have nothing to do with HIV at all, further complicating public understanding of the virus and where we are medically and scientifically.
End of soapbox.

Is crystal meth a thing again?
I thought we'd worked through that.

Yes, Comrade, some still play with the stuff. I had a younster (24 years old) tell me he preferred it to cocaine because "meth had legs to carry you." Apparently, he liked the three-days of wakeful experience meth provides, which cocaine does not.
But, I think meth's star is setting on the horizon. Most people I encounter these days are using H.

We still do crack in Philly (http://articles.philly.com/2012-10-03/news/34219250_1_chitwood-vials-of-crack-cocaine-female-officer), because we're hardcore.

What is "H"?

At the end of Mark's post he says most people are using H? I have never heard of this.

H is usually short for heroin.
-
Oh hehe.
I thought "H" was for "Hugs" because of Mark's signature. I was like "wow! Hugs are the perfect drug. Sometimes they get your rock hard in a second"
We all need some good "H".
Sorry for the crudeness.

Crudeness? You haven't read much in the Off Topic forum, have you. Or the Am I Infected forum, for that matter. ;D

Any of the forums really. Tact isn't something we do well here.

What is "H"?
I had no idea what it meant either. I read a lot of threads where I'm clueless about the terminology. I just pretend and move on.

I just posted in a mental health forum about feeling down but this site does lift my spirits! And although it was somewhat hijacked with my dumb question "What is H?" May Josh Weston rest in peace or live it up wherever he may be.

The only dumb questions are those that remain unasked.

I hope so Comrade.
Things were so much simpler when speed was a powder.

I hope meth's star is setting. Can't happen quickly enough.
There will be something else. Likely worse.
