Hi Im a married man and I had an encounter with sex worker on Mac but i forgot the date maybe the third week of march 2023. (21-25)

Shortly after that the fourth week my penis has infection and doctor gave me injection and amoxicillin for suspected STI for 10 days. I did HIV test and few Sti tests and its all negative on fourth week of march 2023.

On 7th April i saw urology specialist and he did full urine test on STI and results were negative when i received the report on the 14th. On the 14th i told the specialist regarding my mouth ulcer and he did another hiv test for me and it turn outs negative on 19th april.

Starting on 14th april i have ulcer but only one but after the ulcer recovered i noticed the bottom of my gum there are some white things. Third week of april i went to see a men sexual clinic and he did a rapid test on you and it was negative at the same time i did a viral load test on 19th April 2023 at the same clinic. The result came very late on 5th of may which is not detected.

However, during the third week i started to have white tongue but im not sure as i always have white tongue before this. When i open my mouth, the left side is swollen compared to right. My side of my tongue looks scalloped or wavy with some white patches. And I lost my appetite during third and fourth weeks. I had nausea, i can feel hungry but feeling vomit after eating.

On the fourth week my legs started to have some red small rashes and i went for another rapid test only took 20 mins on 26th april 2023 and it was a negative. Same clinic on third week of april where they only given me the viral load test result on 5th of may 2023.

The end of april and the beginning of may i started to feel muscle pain particulary my neck and back and sometimes my hands and legs. I am scared and went for another test on 2 may 2023 and the result has not come out yet.

My last exposure with my wife i believe should be somewhere (21-25 of march 2023) with condom. However, after 7 weeks my wife started to have cough, sore throat and fever today. I have read from this forum that the seroconversion is normally 2-4 weeks or 22 days but why my wife has developed such symptoms on week 7?

I have been worrying i might pass hiv to her but im yet negative so far. I know symptoms means nothing when it comes to this but i have not feel like this before and im scared i mighy accidentally infected my wife and she is currently pregnant on her third trimester.

If something happen i will blame myself for this.

Now i dont bave diarrhea, muscle pain anymore. But i still feel my something wrong with my oral condition, my red rashes become purple and new ones pop out, i also have night sweats and these few days i have sore throat as well. Since beginning of April my body weight has dropped from 80kg to only 73.5kg.

I might infected and the only concern is my wife and my baby is due on the middle of july where i need to know my status immediately! Im lost please help.

Add on: I went for counseling last week and the counselor advised me not to mention anything to my wife as i have been tested negative. she said i might make the situation worse by telling this to her during her pregnancy and she might not have it. The problem is seeing her today falling sick makes me even sad and suspect it might be her seroconversion happening and I just feel like telling her what happen to me and im suspecting im hiv +.

What activities did you engage in with the sex worker? Were these activities with or without a condom?

Details, what activities did you engage in?

Did you have any condomless intercourse with your wife or anyone during the previous three months? Did you give anyone a blowjob?

Jim Allen:
Even if you had acquired HIV, nearly everything mentioned would have nothing to do with HIV, and the remainder is not HIV-specific. Continue to work with your healthcare provider and treat your remaining issues.

From what you posted here, you had no HIV risk from the encounter with the sex worker, and the only HIV risk mentioned was condomless sex with your partner.  Move on with your life!

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

Jim Allen:
P.S

Congratulations on the pregnancy and I wish you all the best.

I'll mention the same thing I always do whenever someone mentions a relationship; If you engage in condomless sex with your partner, you are obviously at risk of acquiring HIV. In relationships, condomless sex is often based on trust or past test results; however, this does not prevent HIV, so if condomless sex does occur, you should consider testing more frequently.
