Worried cant get past:
Good afternoon, Firstly thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my question.
I don't really want to gonin to detail regarding the cause of my concern as it was not at my consent.
Since it happened I have had 4 duo tests; 14 days 28 days 35 days 47 days
I have also had a RNA PCR tesr at 41 days.
I haven't spoken to anyone about the situation other that thoses carrying out the tests, it just seems everyday I get a symptom that seems to be realted in some way, like I wouke up and both my big toe nails had gone blue, I keep having body aches, sweaty hands and feet, and so on. I have been taking beta blockers for axniety.
My question I suppose would be am I correct in saying my tests are conclusive?
Thank you again for your time.
Jim Allen:
Suppose you did not take PEP, and the exposure was sexual. e.g condomless intercourse, then the non-reactive six+ weeks (Lab) HIV antibody test result you have will rarely ever change and retesting at three months is generally not needed.
If you took PEP or the exposure wasn't sex, let me know.

It's not related to HIV from whatever the incident was. See your GP for treatment and I hope you feel better soon.
Kind regards
Jim

Hi Jim - Thank you so much for your response, it must be said that you are such a wonderful person for giving yourself to help a lot of people.
I did not take any PEP, I was not aware of this until it was to late. It was sexual, the traumatic event really impacted me a still contiues to do so.
I am in the UK, the GUM clinic i visited would not test me again after 5 weeks as they said 28 days is sufficient, therefore after reading up on the Internet, I decided to pay privately for the RNA and the 4th duo test which was also a 4th generation test at 47 days.
Would the tests have picked up if any of the symptoms I have experienced have been related?
I have closed myself off from a lot in my life, I am also well aware of any contact I have with my young children because of the fear I have been dealing with.
I find it so strange how I am happy to accept all other tests I have hid done but not this one, is that a common process for people?

The symptoms, as I mentioned, are not related to HIV from this event. However, I will stress that you should see a GP to check the real cause and treat these issues, don't leave these issues unchecked.
Regarding the HIV test results, presuming the HIV antibody test wasn't a rapid test kit, the non-reactive result you have from 6+ weeks will rarely ever change, and I see no reason for further HIV testing over this event.

Look, I wish you well, and I am sorry to hear that you have experienced something traumatic.
How and when you try to manage what you experienced, and the fear is up to you. However, if it's impacting your day-to-day life, including your children's, I would suggest having at least the initial conversation with a healthcare provider about this struggle and finding out what supports are available should you wish to have support.

Common, no, but it happens.
Take care.

Hi - I just wanted some advice. I have done over 20 tests in 11 months, all negative. They were all 4th gen and 3 rna tests. Can I be certain that I am negative?
