CBD oil and anti-virals( Genvoya)
« on: October 09, 2018, 12:27:59 am »

I am a cannabis smoker and have been for a long time. I have a medical marijuana card. Lately, I have found that CBD oil works great for my anxiety and have been using it in a tincture that i drop in my coffee and now my pot use is very minimal. But I hear that CBD oil may interfere with the workings of antivirals. I take Genvoya.
I contacted my doc, but would appreciate any information. Is anyone taking it on antivirals ? Is your doctor concerned?

Nobody really knows whether or not CBD has interactions with antiviral. I have a med card and use it medicinally as often it will give me a second wind in the evening, my antiviral meds work just fine as labs are good. We do have an endocannabinoid system, so the molecules have some place to go. Have you heard from your doc? Mine sort of ignores when I mention.

I contacted my doctor and she suggested that I take the CBD
Oil at a different time but did not seem that concerned. Apparently lots of
hIV medicated folks are taking it with no issues.
